Anyone know anything about these guys? Are the potential starters are just depth?

It's funny because it's true & at some point we have to laugh to keep from crying, or screaming or breaking stuff!

Seriously though I think both would be great pickups, especially Mitchell. Neither should break the bank either.

Mitchell is the infamous mid-late round prospect S who Skeletor took in the second a few years back because he ran in the 4.3s at his pro day. Never panned out there but played very well last season in Carolina.

Bears called Mike Mitchell on Saturday. PFT is saying we are a strong candidate.

That's the way I see it too. Ward or Byrd are pricing themselves out of the market of many teams. I still rate DE as a bigger need if FA due the shortage of top 4-3 DEs in this draft. Bennett is one guy we could use and Johnson is the other. Phil should make certain he gets one of them.

I agree Soul. We need an impact DE in FA. But it won't be cheap so if we land Bennett or Johnson I expect we will see "2nd & 3rd tier" FA signings moving forward to fill as many needs as we can before the draft.
