I sure hope you're right. It will be interesting to watch. They swept us this year with a bumbling idiot coach. I figure Caldwell > Schwartz. If we don't get the defense figured out under Mel Tucker, then we may continue to be beat by the "irrelevant" Detroit Lions.

Mel Tucker won't have another year like this and be here a third. Just won't happen. Worst case scenario is we end up with an "adequate" D that can get us into the playoffs because of our offense, but is not capable of stopping other SB caliber offenses, and then we continue to stay that way for a few years because he is not bad enough to fire. Best case is he actually can lead a defense and we have a well rounded team.

Caldwell inherits another really good solid team, if the GM can keep the crew solid Caldwell will be a good hire.

How can Da Bears prove Caldwell was a bad hire? He'll prove he was or wasn't the right fit over far more games then the 2-3 the Bears will see him in.

I live 20 min's outside of Baltimore, the radio guys/fans hated him.

I just don't see Caldwell as this QB genius as the media has made him out to be... he was handed Peyton Manning and Joe Flacco in their prime. Sounds like his career has been more about good timing than anything.

Possibly right D2A, but Det IS a good timing thing. Stafford, CJ, RBush, and a few other toys to play with, including a good OL and a decent D? All that team needs is discipline and a QB that is under control, and Caldwell might be that guy.

riczaj01... they need to catch the ball too. That stat was the only thing the Mo-Town Kittens were ranked #1 in this year.

Caldwell took the colts from a superbowl contender to a 2-14 team in three years. He was atrocious in Indy. Yes, he lost manning that last year, but his second year was also a dramatic drop. He managed the team horribly.

In Baltimore, he took a very strong offense to a mediocre offense as soon as he stepped in.

I'm sorry, ric. But him stepping into this position is exactly what he's done in his previous two years and he demolished those teams with ease. He's not the man for anything.
