Lynch and Fales are the two long-shot guys I'm pulling for, to make the team.
There's going to be good players who won't make the team. I'm pulling for Christian Jones and Devekeyan Lattimore at linebacker, I'd love to see them both on the final 53. Same with Lynch and Fales. It's nice to have youthful talent infused into this team. I feel like we have a good balance of vets and young guns.
While I understand the need for the author to boost his selection of Fales as a "sleeper" by saying Trestman could make him into a starter he may be forgetting that even if it does eventually work out that way it's highly unlikely as long as Jay Cutler can take a snap from center and throw a football.
If he turns out to be that good and Jay is winning championships he'll actually end up as someone else's starter five years from now after his rookie deal expires just like McCown did. Maybe he should just make him "backup good" not "starter good". LOL
That's a great point. Actually, I'm just hoping for a good backup here. Nothing more. Just having the same backup (a solid one) for 4 or 5 years would be sweet.
When I saw sleeper of they year, I thought someone had nominated Lovie after seeing him on our sideline last year.
Well the best chance we have of having him around for four years is to develop him ourselves otherwise most of the backup for hire guys out there get one or two year deals and then either they're gone or the move on. The McCown thing was very rare in that he hung around for three or four seasons one way or another.
to be fair, I know it was hard to tell, but he was using the Nyquil product he was endorsing.
I don't blame him. He was just trying to tone down that "A" type personality of his.
LOL, I always thought Lovie was the perfect guy to be doing those Ambien commercials or whatever that sleep aid was.
I saw Lovie throw an errant challenge flag onto the stage when Goodell announced that the Raiders had gotten Mack with the #5 pick.
The security guys had to remind him there's no challenges on draft day.
They did tell him that, but he just kept asking if he still had one more challenge.
I'm surprised he had enough energy to throw the flag, I figured the GM had given him a few extra doses, couldn't think of another reason they kept drafting O early.
LOL, Lovie was still groggy from the first roofie so the Tampa GM had to re-roofie him to continue drafting offense.
I can imagine the indignation when someone else stole a pass rusher out from underneath him. Man that's like taking a steak bone away from a pit bull.
Chandler Jones ... he was ours ... we f**ked up.
