depends on who is there, and it's not always about contributing this year, if you can get a guy to develop throughout the year and then contribute next year that's one less worry you have to have next year. I don't think Fedo is going to be there in the 4th either, maybe Desir, no ILB is going to contribute anything longterm or at any sort of high level outside of the mid 1st.

I'd be really happy with this draft! Although I might want a young qb to groom in the 6th depending on who's available over the safety.

There is no way you can definitively say that. Is a first round pick more likely to play at a high level for long time? Yes, but the same could be said about every single other position. London Fletcher was an UDFA in the late 90s and he had a pretty decent long career id say, no? While this is an annominaly and I'm not saying I think we can get a udfa to go to 5 pro bowls, a blanket statement like that isn't true. Maybe Borland can, maybe Bollough maybe nobody in this class will (I think thats much more likely.) The only first round prospect that you could try to force into a Mike role is Mosley. But he is prolly not a Mike, and has injury concerns. Not to say he for sure couldn't do it, but most his scouting reports look very similar to Bostic's last year in terms of strengths and weaknesses. Much more likely we end up with a first and 2nd round wills in back to back years, meaning one of the picks will likely be wasted.

I really do like this. We could trade back and still do this and get an extra pick from Cleveland potentially and pick up 3rd pick in second rd. I like it without trading even

I must admit I don't know much about the guys in the later rounds and have to kinda look em up as I go. That said, if our first 3-4 rounds go like that I'd be pretty damn happy.

yep, still passing time til the real draft happens

Highly doubt Fuller will be there in rd 2 but he was in this mock. Hoping for TE Lyerla in UDFA (UnDrafted Free Agent). Looking at this I can not believe a top CB will be there in rd 2 but makes you think long and hard about taking a top CB in rd 1 and picking up Ward or Bucannon in rd 2

Grizz last year I went back to the 2000 and looked up the top 10-15 MLB's each of those years and where they were drafted, the VAST majority of them came in the top 1/2 of the 1st round, nothing is definite, top C's rarely came in the first or 2nd rounds(wanted to do a comparison), and I bet if I did top RB's they would be a mixed bag from anywhere in the 1st to 3-4th rounds. So yes I can safely say, that a 3rd-4th round mlb isn't likely to contribute long term; you might find outliers, but they are just that, outliers, differing from the norm.

Now could it be that most of these draft sites are right and that the NFL no longer values the MLB position? If that's the case then the scenario changes and we'll see a shift in where the top MLB's come from, but the jury's still out on that.
