    Zach Zaidman ‏ @ ZachZaidman
Bears agree to terms with long snapper Jeremy Cain. Patrick Mannelly was last seen in a walking boot after the Packers game.

    Jeff Dickerson ‏ @ ESPNChiBears
Patrick Mannelly has a calf injury; is day-to-day and could be a couple of weeks, per Trestman.

At least it wasn't a specialist or something...

I'm not sure I would even want to be a ball boy on this team right now. They get their flu shots?

I hope not, they'd probably all come down with the flu. Or the black plague.

Patrick is the Brett Farvra of long snappers.. Hell you could also call him Steve Deberg.. :D

We should seriously be looking for a replacement, yesterday.

Hopefully he heals up quickly. Always does his job at a top notch and professional level. Really one of the few consistent executors on ST - and his consistency is ALWAYS.

    Gentlemen ,

It may be time to hire a new long snapper whether in the draft or free agency.

It just may be the time ... you know what I mean ?

Nobody wants to see anybody gone but this issue has to be addressed.

You may want to look up Mannelly's TACKLE numbers .

    Its off the charts.

How can we find sombody to replace that ?

I haven't looked, but honestly, I don't recall seeing him make a tackle. I mean I'm trying to think of when I saw him make a tackle. I just can't remember but maybe a single tackle.

Ok, I looked. I guess they don't list them.. http://www.nfl.com/player/patrickmannelly/2501861/careerstats

Love Pmann and I think he's got a season or 2 left but it's time to groom a replacement. I think we could find a top-flight LS in that time-frame.

Pmann has a good radio show w/ZZaidmen on 670 the score. It's hilarious he's actually played w/some coaches on the team over the years and coaches on the other sidelines.
