Just heard it on ESPN & BR.
Well, good for him!
I say good for us!
any surprise here?
Good for us indeed... his best game last year by far was against the Cowboys!
That it took so long?
Well I guess Podlesh is getting it started....who is next?
Haha, u know it!
Definitely not a surprise. More of a relief. LOL
Anyone know how much $$ we save by letting him go?
#Bears terminate contract of P Adam Podlesh, who was due to earn $1.425 million this season and had a cap figure of $1.825 million.
Podlesh will count $800,000 vs the cap this season or $400,000 if the #Bears count as a post 6/1 cut and spread over two years.
So we save 1 mill by cutting him? I doubt they designate him a June 1 cut.
So I'm guessing we save $1.425M?
He was going to be a $1.825M hit on the cap, but now its $800K in dead money.... so frees up just over $1M
A little more flexibility added. Stay tuned.
Will probably never hook on with another team.
Wasn't being reunited w/DeCamillas suppose to have turned him around? The only improvement I really noticed was when they brought in mid-season competition.
Gotcha, thanks man.
I'm surprised it took this long after the season ended to hear this news. I thought the deal was done after we picked up Drew (Butler's son).
I would say he cost us a couple of games... GOODBYE!
I have never been a fan of his short high kick, the only thing it did was pad his stats because they did not return them, but he never gave us the ability to change the field position when we were backed up to our goal line.
