POLL: Should Mel take the "D" boys to Minny on Sunday, or stay home & mulch Mrs McCaskey's leaves?

Discussion in 'Chicago Bears' started by JustAnotherBearsFan99, Nov 25, 2013.

?

What should Mel and the boys do this Sunday?

  1. Go to Minny and help AP set a new rushing yardage record?

  2. Have Mel drive 'em in the short bus to Mrs. McCaskey's place to mulch leaves?

I'm thinking that with the #32 ranked run defense & facing Adrian Peterson in the roller dome, it may make more sense to not trouble the boys with the Minny trip on Sunday. Nobody will notice they're not on the field anyway. AP can rack up his yards, and Mrs. McCaskey can get some yard work done by Mel & the boys.

Or, I'm open to suggestions. Is there something else Mel & the defense could stay and do around Chicago on Sunday?

If Mel is doing the mulching, does that mean 4tj is calling the defensive plays?

Maybe Mel could write Goodell and claim "Bullying" by AP. Here he is being a real "bully" to Conte, our star wonderboy safety - wonder as in "I wonder why we drafted him"...

But maybe Conte is a great leaf raker and mulcher. I say we send him and the other "D" buddies to help old Virginia with some yardwork on Sunday.

Where do you begin? Seriously. We don't have a decent safety on our roster. We're #30 in the NFL in sacks. We are #32 in run defense. We can't tackle. We can't pressure the QB. We're one of the worst defenses in the NFL in most stats (pretty much bottom-5). I figure Emery will have to get out the broom this off-season and sweep the garbage out & replace them with better talent. I'd love to see that broom take Mel out first, and then the players. Sort out the good young players we have, and broom out the rest of the "Tuckered Out Defense" and bring in some solid young talent through the draft and FA. It may take 2 years to rebuild the "D" but you have to start somewhere.

Our offensive success, rejuvenation, and rebuild will be wasted for the next few seasons as long as Tucker is here. Hell, I'd rather see Trestman call the D as well. At least there would be fundamentals, attention to detail, and flashes of different concepts.

    Yes, they should rake leaves.
In years past we would give up some yardage, but have a lot of turnovers and one of the best when you looked at ponts allowed.

How did we fall so far?

My worry is that they won't be able to stop blowing leaves any better than they can stop running backs. Poor Mrs. McCaskey will probably end up having to rake her own leaves, while Mel and the boys chase 'em around her yard with rakes.

I can't imagine what the Vikings game plan will be. Will they run or will they run?

Tucker should take the guys to the park to play soccor. Football is too physical.

Believe me, when Virginia gets 'em in the back yard, I think she'll wear-out a rake handle on their noggin's for being such a bad defense. Heck, Ginny could probably take out either of the safeties without the rake. Just whomp 'em for taking McCaskey money and playing such crappy defense.

LOL, she could probably put a move on either one and watch them fall to the ground as she goes by them.

I'd say have the safety's shovel snow but I'm afraid that they would slip and fall with their shovels before they made contact with the snow.

I don't get how we could be so bad at safety. Didn't Lovie draft every safety that came out of the draft in the last few years? I guess it just seemed that way. The man just had a nack for staying away from the good ones and finding the ones that could not play.

It was a "gift" that only Lovie and Jerry had. They were "The Bust Boys" at the draft.
