Three weeks into the Trestman era, and we're considered a top-5 team in the NFL.
Whether we really are, or not, it's still cool.

Even if these ratings aren't completely accurate, and much is opinion, it's still a step. We were never high in the ratings for a reason. The public perception of the team is changing and that's huge. We may not be as good as our 3-0 record but we're also not as far off as in years past and people are taking notice. Regardless of what peoples issues are with this team the arrow is pointing up and we're trending. Enjoy the ride.

I'd rather be flying under the radar myself.

With the Bears being the #3 scoring offense in the league and with Jay being the #3 QB (based on QBR), we are on everybody's radar screen.

I noticed 3 things in the latest rankings:

    1. The Bengals team is at #6. They are considered a solid team, and we beat them (and of course they just beat Green Bay).
    2. We are ranked ahead of the unbeaten 3-0 New England Patriots, who are rated as being the #5 team. Pretty cool to see us get the nod over the Pats.
    3. The almighty Green Bay Packers are not even in the top-10.

This is the year we win back the Division over the Packers. I still believe we have a shot at sweeping them this year too.

NFL.com has the Bears ranked at #5 and I saw another where they had them at #3 (might have been Bleacher Report lol)...

Yeah they are all opinions, but seems to be a general/popular opinion at this point that we got ourselves a Top 5 team here.

I am about as excited about being ranked 5th as I was when we were around 10th

I like this: The Bears defense has as many touchdowns as the Buccaneers and Jaguars offenses.
And I like this: The Bears defense has scored on 1.6% of snaps, higher than the Jaguars offense.

Now we all know the Bucs and Jags are the bottom of the barrel. but they ARE professional teams, and to have a D that scores more than somebody's O is damn impressive.

It's funny though, we all (me included!) complain about not getting media attention, then when we get it, we would rather fly under the radar.

Nice to see the Bears in the top 5, i know the rankings are mostly opinion but I truly believe if Trestman keeps doing what he's doing with the offense (game planning etc.) and the defense continues to keep doing what they're doing getting the take aways this Bears will be the team to watch when the playoff spots start going up for grabs.

Let's put it this way. It's a reflection on the fact that we're doing some good stuff as a team. It's something positive. Regardless of how this season goes from here, I figure it's good to "stop and smell the roses" and enjoy the wins. All too soon it's the dreaded off-season that lasts forever.

If the sports media wants to give us some love along the way, hey, that's cool too.

Why anyone would rank the Seahawks over the Broncos is beyond me.

Peyton Manning is a QB machine. A lot of people said he shouldn't have tried to come back after the neck surgery. But the guy is playing on another level than any QB in the NFL. Pretty good for a 37 year old player.

Yeah, Seahawks have the top defense in the league, no one is arguing that. But look at their schedule: they BARELY beat the Panthers, 12-7. Yes, they demolished the 9ers, and that is why people are all high on the hawks now, and this week they demolished the worst team in the league. But, this week they will face off against a 2-1 Texans team that has the SECOND best D in the league.

Now look at the Broncos: yeah, their schedule thus far is about the same, but look at how they won: scored 49, 41, and 37 points? Most of them being Manning TD passes? Insane. If the SB was Broncos-Seahawks, id take Manning in a heart beat to win.
