R.I.P Tom. Was he sick or was it something sudden?

He just finished a book that will be out in December, so he can't have been sick for very long if he was. All I've seen so far is that he died at a hospital near his home in Maryland.

I was a big fan of his for a for long time...his early books were fantastic...he lost me shortly after making Ryan President (kinda jumped the shark at that point imo)...last book I read was Rainbow Six, which I liked quite a bit...

    1 of my favorite authors...

    RIP, Tom

P.S. Glad that Viking deal fell thru years ago. It'd have been a shame to die their owner...straight to Hell, my friend.

Being the owner of the Vikings would be lugubrious for anyone; to die while being their owner would be an unnecessary stain on the legacy of this great writer.

A great author. His early works were amazing with his insight on future trends and events. The Jack Ryan Jr. books got better as each new one was released. We've lost two outstanding writers this year; Clancy and Vince Flynn.
