So the big controversy in the NFL right now is the name of Washington's team. Countless articles surround the Redskins (because it's a much larger issue than the concussion problem), so let's put it out there...

    Current suggestions include:

    Washington Warriors
    Washington Hogs (or Red Hogs)
    Washington Red Hawks
    Washington Senators

    Bonus Name: Maryland Crabs

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/washington-redskins-top-five-recommendations-name-143100765.html

    Washington Skins (suggested by Snyder)
    Washington Braves
    Washington Federals
    Washington Natives
    Washington Pigskins
    Washington Warthogs

Now it's our turn. Recommend a new name for Washington's NFL franchise.

    My suggestions:

    Washington Shutdown
    Washington Continuing Resolution
    Washington Void
    Washington Red Tape
    Washington Third Party
    Washington Idiots
    Washington Filibusterers

How bout savages - gives kind of a zinger to the 12 people on Earth who get all butthurt over a team name that they should be honored to have . I hope Snyder tells em to stick it , thereby not contributing to the pu$$!fication of America .

Just add warriors to the last name of redskins, grease those needed to be $ like Florida St. and others did to keep their moniker and leave it at that.

okay so I heard a story about the tribal chiefs that met w/the wash owner and a few gov people.....there was 1 protester at the event. This really is much ado about nothing. The guy said that news is trying to make this a cut and dry issue, but that there are some Indians that don't find it offensive, mainly b/c the image on the helmet is a well drawn proud Indian and not a cartoon, which again brings me back to my point, when they have these protests there just isn't the volume there to have it taken seriously.

The ones that are finding it offensive have a point, but in the end if I'm a billion dollar company, and I'm offending a minute % of a group, that probably isn't my consumer, then they can F off. On the other hand, making my fanbase have to repurchase a bunch of stuff w/my new team name on it........

670 AM had a former redskins player on, and now a radio host. He was asked point blank about this, he said when he played(thinking 80's or 90's I'm not sure) there was no big deal.

He said he has a lot of callers on both sides of the argument. He said that a lot of tribes the team has talked to have no issue, and some think it's honoring, not demeaning Indian history/culture and would be upset if they changed it.

He said that a lot of people that have a problem w/the idea of changing the name think this is a media driven issue and not one where a large # of people have a real problem with it; in that regard I go back to the fact that there was 1 protester at the latest meeting.

I wish they would change it my heritage derogatory name. I would be proud as hell that would make me stop being a Bear fan. Well they could always base it off that ethnic group that never gets any respect "other" Washington Nobody's.

They can keep their name, but have to change their logo:
