I do not know if Irish at Notre Dame picked themselves to be their school's mascot, but if Irish did not pick it, should it be changed just like Redskins has to be changed?

It's a leprechaun. That's a mythological creature, hon. And yes, there's plenty of folks of Irish descent involved with ND. They just put up a statue of the little monster a couple months ago so I guess they are still okay with it.
Washington's mascot is not as much of a problem as their name, which is pejorative and references actual non-mythological people. People who get called "Irish" don't get very bent out of shape over it.
Not a very effective comparison really.

I am Irish. Call me Irish all you want. Not offensive whatsoever. A leprechaun mascot vs an Indian mascot......

    BIG difference.

A better comparison would be Redskins vs BlackHawks and even that has holes as the Chicago BlackHawks were not technically named after an Indian tribe but a WW2 combat troop which was named after a brave warrior named Black Hawk, not a tribe, not a race

Nothing wrong by calling them by the actual names of their actual group.

    Fighting farmers
    Fighting Soldiers
    Fighting Eskimo
    Ect

It is the nickname which is a slur that is the issue. Surely even you know that, unless I am over estimating you

Fighting Americans.... There an issue with that?

ultimately there aint a damn thing wrong with Redskins either when its all said and done because again...not one single damn Indian in this entire country is victimized in any way, shape or form because the Redskins call themselves the Redskins.
And its become increasingly evident that the guy pushing the agenda doesn't even care. He's just doing it for political gain.

It's okay Rams. We get it.

You are okay with using racial terms, and using them as team names.

You have made your point quite clear.
