If the LIONS released him then why on earth would we pick him up unless he can play DT.
    :p

We did just let Maneri go. Maybe we could replace him with an actual receiving threat that can catch a ball and block.

We have nobody worth anything behind Martellus Bennett. Nobody who can catch a football.

Maneri is gone, so we might just be thinking about adding Scheffler to get the band back together.

i just saw that maoeki was released too, if he could stay healthy we would have two legit receiving tightends.

Frankly if either of these two is healthy and would come cheap, it would eliminate one offensive need we have for next season, so Emery could devote more resources to restocking the D. Ether of these two would at least give us a plausible receiver at TE opposing defenses wouldn't be able to laugh off when Marty needs a breather.

Maneri and Rosario don't even need to be covered practically.

cost is a problem here, his cap is going to be to much, and(sadly) I hear the plan is to move up Fendi On-a-Bun

When the roster spot was needed for Palmer ... Maneri was the easiest cut to make since Trestman & Kromer have been using Britton as the blocking TE in most situations.

If anything I'm still trying to figure out why Trestman used a 7th rd pick to get Rosario. He hasn't brought anything that any TE scab off of a practice squad could have brought to the team.

Man, I hope not. The hope here to get a tight end in there that can catch a ball. Defense would actively not cover Fendi in hopes we would waste a throw to him.

If we had more $$$ free I would say take Scheffler. I still can't figure out WHY we spent a 7th round pick on Rosario.

Scheffler is the better back-up to Bennett. Hire him.
