Damn, yeah definitely not something you want from your safety who's going to be in some high speed collisions back there. I hope Marshall doesn't rough him up too bad. Thanks for the med report butkus.

Thanks for the info. Yeah definitely, the guy is long and can seemingly handle press coverage very well. With Tillman as his mentor and those very long arms I wonder how adept he'll get at the Tillman Punch? The Fuller Fumble we'll be calling it. I dig the pick, truly.

Don't think any of those rumors made it the GB HQ's, they drafted a qb in the first or 2nd round just about every to every other year that Farve was there.

I do not believe this at all. Dix will never play CB in this league and no matter what position Fuller plays this year I think Bears fans our smarter than comparing a FS to a CB. Hopefully we will see immediately why we took Fuller, but even if it takes a yr or two to find out how we did I think Fuller will be judged on his own accomplishments or failures.

Stenosis is why the Charger's 2x pro bowl LT was forced into retirement early into his career AND why he wasn't drafted high in the first

That's probably one of my biggest gripes with Hester.. if Lovie and Co would have just accepted him as a one trick pony he could have been the greatest one trick pony ever. You put him strictly on return duties and the record for returns was broken years ago and he's just been padding stats.

I don't think Craig Nall in the 5th in 02 was ever a thought to eventually replace Farve.

I agree. And I like the fact we're looking ahead and getting a guy in place BEFORE we're in crisis-mode and a season tanks. I wish we had done something similar (in the draft) prior to Urlacher leaving. When Peanut is done, we can't just chunk anyone in the position and expect to win in this division. Peanut went up against some of the best, if not THE best talent in the NFL and was amazing. I like the fact the Bears brought in a top-tier CB before Peanut is done and the wheels come off. In fact, if a starting CB goes down to injury again this year, we now have some depth.

Like many of the pre mock publications thats just an opinion. Pete Prisco gave the Bears an A for the pick. National Football post had Fuller with the same grade as Dennard and Gilbert. I plotted out rankings from different sites in mid April and I would not put a lot into SB nation.
you can see they ranked Dix high and Fuller low compared to the others. So there opinion is not like similar to others on these two.

What about Marc Burnell, Ty Detmeer(laugh now but he was considered to have potential at the time) and Matt Hasslebeck?

Grizz, I dont' get your point, ya they are all just opinions, but they are opinions of people that have reason to have weight put behind their opinion.

Fuller/Pryor/Dix/Dennard/VerrettGilbert are all going to be good players, but only 2 of those filled the most immiediate need. This isn't a Shea who was only expected to go to a 3-4 team to play OLB, or a Long pick, where even he didn't plan on getting drafted day 1.

I like the player, I don't like the pick, I think Fuller as a player is going to be really good, but I think the team could have gotten a NB future starting CB in the 2nd or 3rd a lot easier then a starting S. Fuller was picked in the rigtht area to play the correct position, but the Bears just put a bandaid on their infected scratch and ignored the fact foot was lopped off.
