Sounds more like they're joking that we'd actually DRAFTED a punter when there are dozens of them out there to sign as UDFAs. I'm kind of with Mayock on this. How do you rate a punter unless that guy is just sooooooo much better than anyone else that it's a no brainer? I don't think this kid is.

What are our recent sixth rounders doing for us now? How many sixth rounders stick anywhere? Who else that we grab here could affect the game even close to as much as a guy who is one of the three key components to ST?

Kronik sox says he's happy then I'm good with it.

Kronik was talking about a punter and I remember the kid from Miami being one of the ones listed. If he's worth having to someone who knows about him then I'm happy to have him on the team. I'm tired of Podlesh.

That's what I was saying. Not much left worth taking at any other position so we add some competition at #3 QB and P. Not like those spots are locked up.

Too true, can't really expect much more out of the 6th round. I mean we basically drafted a starter in the sixth with O'Donnel. How often do you get a starter in the sixth? Plus he holds for PAT's/FG's and can handle kickoff duties. The report says he's dedicated to his craft and loves the game. He's going to work his ass off.. I'm fine with him. Saw something about so many straight games with a 50+ yarder? That's pretty damn good. Plus he set records at the U. Once again, happy with this selection. Hell, happy with the whole draft. Curious what position they'll address in the 7th though.

B/c of Sox pointing out the need of a legit punter for the Bears I actually mocked a Punter in the 6th, this was the guy, and only b/c he's the highest rated punter coming out this year. It's a good pick up if he ends up being a long term answer.

There is no LB that is going to stick in the 6th round, nor a DB, so why not take flyers on these guys?

Well, if we are going to spend a draft pick on a punter, we might as well get a BEASTLY one at 6'5 220. Apparently, he bench pressed more than ALL the wide receivers at the combine and like 15 DLine guys. Emery said he liked bigger... ha ha

If he ends up being our starting day punter, well then great!

Plus, Phil said yesterday that he's going to have plenty of opportunities to grab guys after all is said and done. I trust that a 6th round pick say at linebacker, won't have the chance to contribute nearly as much as somebody he has his eye or can grab in the next few months..

I'm really happy with this draft. We grabbed starter quality guys throughout and upgraded a multitude of positions even if it's just depth. Great draft. O'Donnel is a good pick in my opinion, if he's starter quality then why wouldn't you want to pick him up? He was projected 7th-UDFA so rather than use a pick on someone unlikely to contribute and risk someone else taking him before our 7th we grab the highest rated punter. Lovin it.
