hope that doesn't mean they overpay for him. I'm not 100% sure he's better then Wootton, and I'm certain Wootton will cost less.

We need two DEs, not one. It's not Bennett or Wootton, it's Bennett + someone else. And CW is not medically cleared yet.

I really hope we can get Wootton and Bennett. Means good bye to Pep but he's had a good run with the bears. Time for some younger and hopefully hungry to prove themselves players at DE.

I hope we sign him, just hope fans don't turn on Emery for signing him if he fails to do much good.

Just remember he will not be the defensive savior.

i have feeling that hes the kind of guy who needs system and (good) teammates, and that is fine, hes def. an upgrade, but the problem is he is not worth 10mil. because of ur comments im willing to raise the bar to max. 8 per year

Wootton is the most important of our unsigned FAs at this point. If they land Bennett and bring back Wootton, I will consider it a successful FA period.

    :thumbsup24:

Totally agree. We MUST re-sign Wootton.

Michael Bennett and Wootton are much more important than Bennett and any LB/CB/S.

I'd like to see them sign both Wooton and Bennett. Strictly from a schematic angle, if on obvious passing downs we could have a line of Bennett, Wooton, Ratliff, and another Rusher(whether that be Shea from a stand up or someone else) that presents a line that can get after the passer(Think NY Giants Nascar package when they won the Superbowl...Osi, Tuck at tackle, JPP, and a pass rushing tackle)

I definitely agree that signing Wooton is nearly as big of a move as Bennett.

I would imagine Stein/Emery will try to sign him to a contract similar to that of Bushrod/MartyBennett last off-season. Small cap hit the first year that triples or more the following season.

If this happens, Martellus Bennett must be thanked for constantly dogging his brother about this on Twitter. Just a damn shame Byrd didn't have the same reaction to all of his tweets, lol

Bears probably waiting to see what the market will be for Wooten. Wooten needs to find out what he is worth to make an informed decision. Someone id going to pay him more than the bears want to spend. My gut thinks Wooten will not be back.
