That's a lot more than I thought.
Since we're in the top 5 in cap management IIRC we might be able to keep an extra player or two or come up with something more impactful in FA.
If nothing else, maybe this softens the blow of the Cutler contract impact this year. I was worrying that it was going to suck the life out of our cap space. This should give us some breathing room.
Cutler's contract isn't going to be as big of a deal as everyone's making it out to be. If Emery feels he needs a FA, he can parlay it into a signing bonus.
This is a big help. We have re-signed several players that I think have the same clause in their contract as Cutler. Hopefully with the cap increase we won't need to change much money into a signing bonus.
Just did a quick look at overthecap.com and with Pepper's hit and dead money hopefully split over 2 years this will give us 14.5 million more. Now add the 7 million and we have another 7.6 million under the CAP. We could have potentially almost 30 million in CAP space (29.1 is more accurate). Not saying this will happen this way but you can shave off another 3-4 with cutting Earl B and Bush.
John says the CAP figure may now be up to 132 million so that means an xtra 9 million!!!! That means one stud FA this off season.
