before he turns in his usual douche "conclusion", he actually raises some excellent points. We don't have anyone capable of stopping Jimmy Graham or Sproles. We still can't rush the passer. Brees and the Saints might very well put up 50 this week, unless we can sneak Danimal out onto the field and bring Buddy back out of retirement to coach our D on Sunday.

Did I hear that correctly, that he said we'd beat the Saints 51-7?

I have a feeling he got the score reversed. :D

I hope we do win, but this has a good chance of getting out of control quickly, and on the losing end.

I am really curious about this game, beyond just wanting the Bears to win. We are all still learning about our new coach. I'm dying to see if he can make adjustments after a loss that can help improve the team with existing talent (and obvious talent problems on defense).

    1. Can he help Jay learn from the past game and clean up his "Bad Jay" tendencies?

    2. Can he help the defense improve? I understand he's offense oriented, but he is STILL a head coach, and a student of the game - offense, defense & ST's.

    3. Can he put together a game plan good enough to knock off an elite team? One that leverages talent to the max, while minimizing our weaknesses?

    4. Can he keep the team focused after a tough loss, and how WILL the team players respond?

We'll know a LOT more about Marc Trestman, after this next week (against the Saints on Sunday & the New York Giants on Thursday). I can't wait to see what we have in this guy. Is he really a "guru" or is he just a guy trying to make the adjustment from CFL to NFL, and in over his head? Is he the real deal or just a lot of hype?

Man, as Bears fans, we have an exciting two game sequence here. Even if we lose to the Saints, an obviously elite team this year with an obscene level of talent, it could still give us evidence that Trestman > Lovie. Or not.

If it was Lovie, we'd be waiting and hoping we'd get a glimpse of the fabled "Hester Package" in a game like this. We'd never seen it (or a unicorn for that matter) but somehow we just KNEW that it was gonna be epic. More powerful than a nuclear bomb. But, all we'd hear after the inevitable loss, was the ole' "There's a lot of football left to play, and the sun will still come up - tomorrow" thing.

99, I don't need this game to know that Trestman>Lovie. However, just like O was Lovies weakness, D might be Trestmans.
