I went back and Looked at the final drive, and I was totally amaze.

Started at our 11 yard line with 9:48 to play in the 4th Quarter.
    Consisted of 18 plays
Consumed 8 minutes and 58 seconds.
Consumed all of the Packers time outs.
Concluded on the Packers 6 yard line.
Resulted in a Field Goal giving us a 7 point lead.

I'm not sure I have seen that from the Bears since Orton did it years ago.

Yeah, everyone is focused on Rodgers being out, that people forgot that our offense was still up against their starting D (minus Clay Matthews though). They had quite a few succesful drives.

What did you think about the holding call against M. Bennett? I thought it was tacky.

Most of the calls were BS. Not one single flag against the peckers. not one. I saw several blatant holds and a couple PIs. I also thought they had a guy ahead of the ball on the onsides. We were called for a toenail in front of the ball last game. And the spot an Marty where we had to go for it on 4th and inches was a gift to the peckers as well as a 1st down given to them that was about a yard short. And I still am wondering what happened to the 5 seconds between when we called time out and the clock stopped on that last drive.

What about the last drive of the Bengals game that took up 6 minutes or so.

Yes there's a reason this offense is productive on all fronts. Let me think why.......oh, that's right we have coach that is as smart as McCarthy now and GM that can get guys in a draft like GB. No longer do we have coach that requires instructions for laying sod with card in his hand reading "green side up" Lovie.

Yes, it seemed that at many critical points in the game, the refs made a call for the Packers.

Definitely one of the best offensive drives I've seen from the Bears in recent years. There was also a drive they had when they played San Diego a while back that was pretty good, too.

I'm not sure if it has been mention yet, but afaik this drive is the drive with most plays in the league so far.

it was good to see that we finally have a good offense and a coach that knows what he's doing

That is another good point about this drive, we had a holding call and an illegally formation call that they were able to overcome, Thanks guys I forgot.

Just really nice to be on the other end of a game winning long drive at the end of the game.

Now if we could only figure a way to infuse some Mike Brown DNA into Conte, and stop ANY team from getting 200 yard on the ground aagainst us :(

Hope Trestman goes back and looks and this drive and understands just how important Forte is to this O. The majority of the plays were runs by either him or Bush, it's a key b/c the O has to chomp up clock to keep the D off the field, not just in the final drive, but throughout the game.

Also If Rodgers had been out there, the score might well have been different and this drive might never have happened. Don't think the two are mutually exclusive.

I agree if Rogers is still in the game then this drive would not have been possible. I just hope that Cutler, Trestman, the O-line and the RBs learned something from this drive, like:

Cutler - that taking care of the ball IS important and it can be done
Trestman - Matt Forte and Bush can run the ball against even one of the best D-lines.
The O-line - We can run block, against the big boys (this will be very important in the next two months)
The RBs- We can grind on the ground (huge to get some confidence in the o-line and each other)

I'm making the assumption here based on some hints from Trestman himself, that this game was 100% Trestman play calling, while when Cutler is behind centre it's play calling by committee. That probably explains why this game had more of an emphasis on the run game, more than Trestman just 'discovering' the run game.

That would not surprise me that they would give Jay more leverage to get to the line and make an audible according to what he saw, but In order to keep it simple for McCown (because of less time running the offense not because of his intelligence) they might have told him to stick with the original call more often.

I really think that last drive was more about execution than play calling. I mean they ran the ball to eat up clock and threw the ball only when they needed to, not much rocket science there.

Our last drive was what GB is famous for doing on us!

So it was awesome that we pulled that on them. It was not typical Bears. Which was awesome!

I hope it becomes typical for us. I want to win 25 out of the next 30 to put our overall record against these bums back where it should be after the beatings we've taken the last 25 years or so.
