man I hope not b/c that means either trading way up, in a draft where you need multiple starters, or having to depend on luck to have what is right now considered top 10 talent drop w/out someone jumping in front of you.
either way, nope. If he's not there I'll be more then happy to take a S or CB or ILB, or another DT.
If we had not gotten Lamarr Houston I'd say yes. But our starting DL is already set (Allen, Houston, Paea, Young). Now we need a starting safety because we're really really thin at S.
Thread title should be DB or bust.
The mocks I have seen have Donald still available at #14. What mocks have you guys seen?!!!!
I got a pass and go Safety or CB depending who is avail in rd 1.
I am not going to settle for anyone. You never know how a draft will work out, or what "top rated player" may or may not fall. Happens a lot. If by some miracle Clowney falls to 14, you bet your ass I am taking him over Donald
I just want to shore up the MIDDLE of our defense. I would be OK with a DT or a S in the first round. Would rather have a DT or S over a CB in the first round.
I think the QBs are gonna fall a bit (outside of Manziel), so it'll be way harder to see Dobalf last that long
I'd love to get Donald but I'm not holding my breath we will. Not do I think it's "Donald or bust". I definitely do NOT want to trade up (for anyone). Between DT, S, and CB there should be a very good player available to us at 14 and all three of those positions are major needs IMO. I'm guessing it's going to end up being Pryor or Fuller as the two most likely.
I predict there will be 2 QBs taken before 14.
If these QB fall, Wonder if one is there at pick 51 if its trade bait time or we get the future QB. If somebody like Carr or Bridgewater falls should make for a win either way.
If any of the top 3-4 QB's are there at 51, I don't see how the team doesn't take one or try and trade back for someone else to take them.
I'm fine with him at #14 if Emery thinks that's our best guy there. I'm not convinced he's going to be the best DT (ultimately) in this draft. I know he's the darling of many at the DT position. It will be interesting to revisit this draft in 3 years and see who the real DT stud was. But, if Uncle Phil thinks he's our best shot at #14 then I'm 100% all-in. I'd rather not see us trade up to get him though.
Hoping Mosley is there.
Thanks but no thanks.
I'd rather have the following before Donald (in this order):
However, if Emery did draft Donald, I would support it 100%.
The same that says Bridewater falls out of 1st round.. Which I don't believe he will.
Houston is not playing DT full time though...
