when you call certain calls, you expect them on both sides if the ball.

while we got some calls that were obvious, they neglected to call a lot of holding by the redskins offensive line.

I can go on and about the lack of calls on the redskins sides yet they call our side tight as shit..

the NFL refs just kill me.

they tipped the game in the redskins favor today.

Liked that offside call on the onside kick.

I agree, how do they call offside onthe onside kick? How do theynot throw merriwether out of the game? How do they onot call the blatanthholdingand call back that resu, ting touchdown?

but i blame our lack of performance more. Specifically mel tucker. Andthe injuries.

injuries hurt but we overcame them.. We didn't get any holding calls when there was clearly holding against a defender close by.

With as terribly as the defense played the entire game and as poorly as the offense played the first half, you can't blame the refs. We should have won this game easily.

That being said, the offsides on the onside kick was just a horrendous call. On the completion before the 2-min warning where Shea missed a sack, one of our lineman was getting absolutely mauled in plain sight, and nothing was thrown. Scumbag Donte Hall got away with holding a bunch of times, too. Still, this team sucks and there's no excuse for not beating them.

499 yards is hard to overcome. The refs certainly altered the outcome of the game, but this team didn't deserve to win, either.

The refs did play a part, but even then the Bears still had a chance to win.

that was the correct call, Weems' knee broke the plane.

Sure, the refs sucked at times but that's the 'home field' advantage.

We didn't lose this game because of the refs, they just didn't bail us out from doing it ourselves...

Yep, the officiating was bad, but you win most of the time when you score 41 points. I don't know what the numbers (percentages) are but it's got to be in the high 90s. The defense stinks. People are getting old on the D side of the ball and it shows every game.

If that's the yardstick that offside is measured by, then there should be about 150 offside calls a year.

They had the officiating guy in the booth explain it: for regular plays, there is some leeway on it, but on onside kicks, they view the 35 yl as an actual "plane," and will flag the kicking team if ANY body part breaks it before the kick, like Weems did.

I recall hearing him talking about that, he sounded doubtful about the call.
Either way, kinda dumb to call the same play two ways depending on what kind of kick it is.

As long as they are consistent about it, then it doesnt really matter, since they are two different types of plays. On kickoffs...you can let it slide, since the ball is being kicked 60 some yards anyway, so a few inches here and there wont really affect it too much. But an onside kick? Those DO come down to mere inches, and have to be correct.

I agree that it seems odd, but like i said..so long as they are consistent about it with onside kicks, then its not really a problem.

after all our miscues and I juries we had a shot.

with the calls and lack of calls, I think that was enough for them to win.

If the Defense stopped ANY of their drives, we wouldve won. The only FG Wash kicked was in the first quarter. After that...straight TD drives.

I agree. Even on their last TD run Peppers was getting held big time.

On the 1st play of their winning TD drive we stopped them for a 2 yard loss but Paea was called for defensive holding on a running play. Now I'm not saying he didn't do it because there wasn't a replay & there is a good chance we don't stop them regardless. But that is very seldom called.
