I think Peanut saw the DL collapse and knew he could be injured in stepping up to cover for them. He got injured.

Im hoping hes thinking that if we sign and draft defense he wants to be along for the ride of an improved BEARS defense.

A one year deal would be ideal. Problem with Tillman is his age, losing Urlacher shows that when you lose a vet player, you are going to need a semi-capable replacement waiting in the wings to take over (which is why we picked up DJ Williams, who did ok until his injury). As much as we all love Tillman and want to see him retire as a Bear, we are going to need a younger replacement waiting. A one year deal will give us the opportunity to do this.

Jimmors lets get it done. Tillman is the secondary coach of the future for BEARS.

Although once again ... not this year. I hope.

I agree. I can see that happening. Just thinking of him going up against Marshall or Alshon makes me sick.

I'm a big Peanut fan. I want him back. To me he was the ONLY D player that was worth a damn last season. It appeared that he played his heart out while a lot of the other guys were just going through the motions.

I think a 1 year deal would be ideal. For one for Tillman to leave the year of one of the worst Bears Defenses, is definitely leaving on a "low note". Also I think having this vet around for the rookiees we will have on D is only a positive thing. Basically a handing of the torch. Show these young bucks what it means when people say "Bears Defense"..

I like what a class-act Peanut is outside of football. I still remember how Peanut ripped the ball away from Randy Moss in the end zone, and saved the game against the Vikings. Randy was at the peak of his career, and had a lesson given to him by Peanut.

Yep I remember that ... Peanut somehow defied all the laws of physics ... lept over Moss to get the ball and landed back on his feet behind Moss. To this day I dont know how he did it.

Then next year he caused a couple of fumbles from Moss. It's safe to say he got the better part of Moss.

Thinking back, when is the last time we DIDN'T have Tillman on an opponents #1 WR for the majority of the game? I want to say the Bears have put Tillman on the #1 WR for YEARS now... never heard him complain or talk smack...
