1+1 doesn't always add up to 2 though.

You might get a late 1st but wont get all those picks. Not even close. Might get a 1 and 3 depending on how far back you go

San Francisco has a ton of picks in the first few rounds. May not get them all but worth listening too. If they want to move up they will work out something if anyone will listen.

Bear could use more picks. After all, they only have six. But I doubt very much that even with all the picks they have, they would be willing to give up that many to move up.

Yes, they have a lot of picks. But I dont think they will want to trade a bunch to move up a few spots in the 1st

Seen several articles where they want a top WR and one of the top CB's. Probably will not happen where they currently sit. If they want Evans or Lee we may be in a perfect spot as well as Dennard, Gilbert, or Fuller. A week ago or so similar posts and how they do not need all them picks anyway as they have few opening for these picks anyway..

Maybe in the second we can pick there pocket again. LOL. Now i am dreaming.

I know the market value isn't always equal to the trade value chart, but for the Bears to move from 14 to 30 in the first and only yield a 3rd, that would be rape. I could easily see the Bears getting their 2nd and 3rd if the 9ers really want to move up (and no team would unless they really wanted to). Now, we may not get that additional 6th that BS shows above, and maybe it's a 2nd and 4th, but no one would drop 16 selections (that's not a few spots, that's half the entire round) in the first for a mere 3rd rounder.

Ultimately, I DO think it will be hard to find a trade partner in this draft because everyone knows it's deep, but I also don't believe a team will trade down that far for little return.

Said it before and I'll say it again. The ONLY way I want us going backwards in round one is if Donald is gone and we can get a really sweet deal. Emery may be in a position to blackball the niners and if a guy like Dennard is there he could essentially say "here is what it will cost you (1st, and both their 2nds is the only way I would want to go down more than half the round) and if you don't like it were going to take him." With their volume of picks its possible we could get a really sweet deal like that because they HAVE to drop picks somewhere. Now more realistically you'll see them being active moving up in rounds 3-5 but this is just throwing it out there.

Bottom line: If were moving down from 14-30 their offer would have to be SWEET. I'm sure they know that we have needs to fill and getting us to drop more than half the round isn't exactly going to be easy when we can prolly fill a need at 14 from day one.

Also, I just don't see Emery trading down unless its just too good to pass up. Emery is aggressive and he seems like much more of a guy who would trade up instead of down. That kinda JA hedging bets passiveness I don't expect from pitbull Emery.

I take the trade we are not a single player away and the draft is a crapshoot anyway. Whos to say whoever we pick at 14 will be better than they guy we could get at 30. Its a SWAG. (Sophisticated Wild Ass Guess). Those extra picks in a deep draft like this I believe make it worth it. Lets see.

    #14 Donald #30 Jenigan,
    #51 Ward #51 Ward
    #56 Quarles.
#77 CB, TE or ILB _ Niklas
#82 CB or ILB #82 TE, whoever not taken in 77._ Desir, Bullough ???

Extra pick later too for a lineman to develop or RB.

I think people are way to hung up on Donald and not looking at entire body of work. Just sayin.

I agree on both posts Grizz. If Donald is there the only way I could see it as for a premium of picks and with that #30 we take Quarles who rates just below Donald as the next best 3 tech. As long as we could take him there (and we should be able to) and the offer is too good to pass up I stay right where I'm at. Those picks between 12 and 15 are choice picks. Less risk than some of the first round reaches and still top rated guys at spot we need.

I believe your other point is correct to. Emery doesn't lack the confidence to trade up for "his guy" wheras Angelo did and would rather trade down to spread his risk over more choices. Good thought but he blew it on those choices anyway and passed on some very good players. I like this way much better and he's shown this in FA as well. The Houston and Allen deals are a good example. He took both away from other teams that wanted them just as badly.
