Donald Trump insists he's serious about purchasing Buffalo Bills

Donald Trump demands to be taken seriously.
The billionaire entrepreneur and professional famous person insists he's sincere in his wish to purchase the Buffalo Bills. And he wants to keep the team in Western New York.

"I'm going to give it a heavy shot," Trump told The Buffalo News on Monday. "I would love to do it, and if I can do it I'm keeping it in Buffalo."

Trump has (very Donald Trump-y) personal reasons for keeping the Bills right where they are. His Boeing 757 could get from New York City to Buffalo in an hour.

"I live in New York, and it's easier for me to go to Buffalo than any other place," he said. "Where am I going to move it, some place on the other side of the country, where I have to travel for five hours?"

Multiple sources confirmed to The Buffalo News that Trump has had two conversations with Bills president and CEO Russ Brandon.

Trump isn't the only high-profile celebrity linked to the Bills, who are expected to be sold following the death of longtime owner Ralph Wilson. Jon Bon Jovi reportedly will be the face of a Toronto-based group seeking to purchase the club.

Bon Jovi's publicist didn't confirm interest in the Bills specifically, but told The Toronto Sun the famous rocker "remains passionate in his pursuit of an NFL franchise."

I couldn't decide whether to close with a tired catchphrase from "The Apprentice" or a lyric from the "Slippery When Wet" album. I have settled on neither.

    --------------------

If Trump keeps the team in Buffalo I'm all for it. On the other hand he would have to sell his casinos, otherwise I don't think the NFL will allow it.

    And fvck Bon Jovi.

Thought JBJ was part owner of the J-E-T-S blechs blechs blechs.

Either way, I hope Trump gets them if he'll keep them there. I also think he'd be smart enough to hire NFL guys to run the personel side of the team; although I could be wrong about that, he is nothing if not a huge egotist.

I think the owners will stated it had to be sold, or something along those lines.

Trump was serious about fighting Presidents Bush & Obama, and was even a birther/s. Seriously though, the guy just likes keeping his name public, same way but different motivation as WBC.

At this point I don't care who becomes the new owner as long as the team stays in Buffalo. I mean how pathetic would it be for the state of New York to not have a single football franchise?

Source: Bills buyer must be prepared to stay in Buffalo

The future of the Buffalo Bills remains very much in the air, but there are encouraging signs moving trucks won't be rolling into Orchard Park anytime soon.
On Tuesday at the Spring League Meeting in Atlanta, a source with strong knowledge of the Bills sale situation told NFL Media's Judy Battista that, "Whoever buys (the team) has to be prepared to stay there."
Tim Graham of The Buffalo News has heard similar things. Graham reported Tuesday he's been told a Toronto-based group interested in buying the Bills is "reconsidering because moving might be too difficult."
Jon Bon Jovi, reportedly the face of that Toronto-based group, can attest to the roadblocks standing in the way of a move out of Western New York.

Russ Brandon, the Bills' president and CEO, was more guarded when asked about the team's future Tuesday in Atlanta.
"I really can't give any insight when it comes to the framework with that, but everyone knows that my sole interest and responsibility to make sure the team stays in Western New York," Brandon said. "And we have a viable commodity that I think we've done a great job over the last 15 years in really making the best offering by utilizing what we've been doing off the field."
Brandon added that the Bills will "eventually" need a new building, but said a major retrofit to Ralph Wilson Stadium -- similar to what the Chiefs did with Arrowhead Stadium -- is another option.

Trump is the epitamy of 'Murica. Dude has risen and fallen more then any of us could hope and uses the rules to his best advantage. And he has the ego and personality to boot.

love him or hate him, I think he'd be a solid owner, probably alon the lines of a Cuban, and will have a solid team at least b/c he'll leave the football to the guys that know it; unlike a guy like Snyder or Jones.

I agree. He does have a no non-sense about him. I guess thats the ego, but honestly, leaving the team in Buffalo should be considered as a positive more than anything.

I am From Toronto and would like nothing more then having an NFL team to watch on a regular basis here...But I feel Toronto fans are to fickle and if we are losing we are not coming to watch the games at the stadium each and every game. We can have 50k people watching the dreaded Leafs blow games each season but a football game...I dont think so. I mean the Raptors fill up but that is like 17k people...far from the 70 +k needed for NFL, The Blue Jays barely gets 15k unless they are winning like they are currently.
