Just some stuff found off twitter
ZZ: Otis Wilson attended Rookie minicamp to watch

me: Can I say I'm happy that HH has been more open to allowing past players in, it semed like they had/have tried hard to distance themselves from the 85 crew, but it seems to be opening a little now.

ZZ: David Fales on March Trestmans practices "Chaos. Bring the rage."

Michael C Wright: Lynch stayed after to field kicks, looked good doing it

ZZ: Aaron Kromor says the Bears are broadening their O b/c the coaches now have a much better understanding of what each player is good at.
on Lynch: he's out there at RB and shows he has the running instincts
on Fales: right now he's challenging to be on the team. Kromer hopes he can eventually challenge for the backup job.
on QB: you want the qb to walk in and throw strkes, but it takes time
on the OL: he's good w/the starting 5, but if someone plays poorly they could be replaced

me: Garza/Mills who could he be talking about?

on Carey: When he puts his foot on the floor he doesn't dance he goes. He sees a hole he's able to get north. I didn't see a 4.7 on tape, but he can get from point a to b in a hurry

on Kyle Long: He's gone from an infancy to a graduate in college(talking about his growth as a NFL OG). He'll remain a G, they want the protection to start from the inside and work it's way out.
didn't rule out an eventual move to T though.

Back to ZZ: practicing outside, O'Donnell just missed the space station on one punt

ZZ: Marc Trestman, the harder we can make practices the easier games will be

MT on Lynch, he's got good eyes and good vision utilizing those eyes

MT on 6-8 TE Andre McDonald: We've seen him out there

MT on Palmer: It's fair to say he'll have the first crack at backup, it's a competition.

MT on QB: expects to have 4 at TC, maybe 3, those 3-4 will be fighting for 2 spots

ZZ: Decamillis on O'Donnell, he's got a live leg

Decamillis on Chris Williams: the guys in NO's didn't want to lose him

Decomillis on Mannelly: we just have to let it play out

Decom: we got to get better punting

on Danny McCray: he was the best ST unit player in Dallas

np. Sounds like Carey and Fales had a better day 2 then they did day 1.

What's the scoop on the 6'8" McDonald TE? Anyone know if he's worth a damn? that's a big boy.

sounds like another guy who's not 100% football and gets into trouble for it, even though he's got the God given ability to do it.

did anyone else notice the Patrick Mannely comment? Sounds like there is no guarantee he's coming back, and it's on him. Wonder if De La Puenta can do that; and didn't the bears get a UDFA w/some LS experience?

This guy is going to make the team. He can help us in a number of areas.

I am pulling bigtime for this guy to show he has the gears to be THIS year's #2 QB. It would be so much better for the team if we finally had a solid young kid at #2. Not to be a future #1. But just to solidify the backup role for a few years, and at an affordable price. But the guy has to have the talent and ability to win the job.

Yeah, that's kind of like pulling for Marquess Wilson to become this years #2 WR. No offense but that's a pipe dream. I've read it all over Bears-ville since the draft--there's a ton of unrealistic fan expectations floating around out there about Trestman waving a magic wand and suddenly Fales instantly becomes a younger Josh McCown ver 2.0

Heck it took MCCOWN two years to become that and he was a vet with a fair amount of prior experience.

Reality check time: Fales is a 6th round rookie QB from a minor collegiate program who has a marginal NFL arm and is coming in cold to Trestman's complicated system. Think Nathan Enderle right now with (hopefully) more future upside. I'd be absolutely shocked if our HC entrusts the QB2 job to a late round rookie draftee with 3 months camp experience total on an NFL roster. Palmer would pretty much have to self-destruct for that to happen IMO.

I'd be happy if Fales proves worthy of the 3rd string job (even on the PS) and becomes a legit competitor for higher in a year or two. Easy there....there's reasons this guy wasn't drafted until the 6th.

Palmer only has 15 nfl passes to his credit, or exactly 15 more than Fales. I believe a lot of faith is going into Palmer that is not been earned as well. I do not know if Fales can beat him out or not but McCown was a starter prior to being the backup and had a lot more experience than we have in Palmer. I suspect it may be a closer camp battle than we think at this point.

Yes that's true but he's been in NFL meeting rooms and camps for several years. He's been with the Bears and in Trestmans system about a year now. He's way way ahead of where Fales is in terms of preparedness (or least damn well should be).

Look, I'm fine with the Fales pick. Just sayin let's be realistic about his limitations right now.

I am good with both if Trestman likes them both that's good enough for me. Just sayin Palmer does not have much practical experience with the rush in his face either. Agreed he has been in the meeting room but not the comfort in the Pocket that McCown had and thus the gap may not be so large.

I'll laugh pretty hard if the great white hype looks as pedestrian as I expect in the preseason. It's gotten ridiculous.

I know it would be a minor miracle for Fales to be the #2. I'm not saying it will happen. I found it interesting to read that Fales comes from an offense that has a lot of similarities to the Kromer offense, with some of the terminology the same. Obviously it is a huge leap to the NFL from where he was though. I'm not denying that.

So you and Sox are saying Lynch has no chance to make the team? I didn't say he'd be a star. I do believe that with the broad base of things that he can provide for the team, he has a shot. The guy is an incredible athlete, and it sounds like he is showcasing that quite well now.

No, I'm not saying that at all. Just was making a joke about how we all tend to get unrealistic in our expectations this time of year with new players. Come down here to Arizona and go to opening day of Cubs spring training if you want to see plenty more of that phenomenon.

I could see Lynch or Jones sticking especially if they show ST ability. I think Sox was just saying that the hype about him is a little overblown.
