I'll be curious as to how the talent pool of UDFA's is this year with the expanded scouting dept.

The Bears say they won't announce it until they're actually signed. All they have so far are verbal commitments.

Jones is a good developmental MLB. He's got the size, speed, and athletic ability but he lacks some football instincts and he still pretty raw. Good pickup though.

Don't know anything about the other besides Lynch.

I just checked on the NFL site and we have signed 2 (at least as listed there).

Both the NFL has Jones signed with the Jaguars and SBNation has him listed as signing with us.

This will be interesting as it plays out.

Saw that and I'd believe the NFL posting over SB Nation. That's why the Bears said they won't announce anything until contracts are signed. Agents will use this time to leverage bigger signing bonuses for their guys by pitting teams against one another. For some it's more about the money and for others it going where they have a better chance of making the team. Jax may offer Jones a better shot at making the roster.

Some of the UDFA are actually in a better spot than the late draft picks since they have a choice of who to sign with and can leverage a bigger bonus if they're in demand.

And really I can't blame them for getting the most they can. If we wanted them to be a guaranteed thing then we should have drafted them. Go make that paper while/if you can.

I found the following article on the Orlando Sentinel (via the Trib's website). Apparently the source for the Jaguar signing came from the FSU twitter feed and was in error.

Thanks chuckster. This time the NFL site was wrong. My guess is the failed drug test and the move from LB to DE cost him points although his scouting report has him as a WLB. Guess we'll see what the guy's got to offer. With all of the DE additions it makes me wonder if they may move Washington back to OLB too.

This is becoming too much information. Hey, as far as I'm concerned what Soul and Ric do on their on time is none of my business.

LOL!!!!!! I just read this and I guess I have to watch what I say! I'm still laughing at myself. I set myself up and no one jumped me (in the platonic sense of course!)

I meant someone thanks you for fixing their tv and you say, hey no problem... it's what I do......

Not that I get a room and into a hot tub with other guys....

Not that there's anything wrong with that (as Seinfeld would say...)

I never even saw that... There are even bigger dirty minds on this board than me. I'm going to have to raise my game....

Hey leave me out of this. I have no idea of what Ric even posts. He's still on my ignore list because of all the Texans I know he is by far the most stubborn bullheaded one I've ever come across and for a Coloradan that's saying something. We've had more than our fair share of them moving here trying to buy up mountains and name them after themselves.

Life has become much simpler for me now that I no longer have to figure out where he gets some of his ideas and info from and what color the sky is over his part of Texas. All I know it that it must be a different color than here. We've disagreed about so many things that I was actually beginning to think about agreeing every once in a while just for the hell of it and then I thought......nah.
