Barring injuries or Trestman getting run over by a bread truck, this team IS GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR. GUARANTEED.

Our offense will continue to hum in Year 2 of the "Trestman Project." Emery has done a phenomenal job improving our DL and Secondary. Peanut and Jennings will be back to 100%, and the safety position will at least be average (which will be a HUGE upgrade over last year).

I have not been this optimistic entering a season in quite a LOOOONG time. For the first time since I as a kid, I have faith in both our Head Coach AND GM. I believe that they will find a way to deliver some great seasons to Chicago. I honestly think we are about to go on a run of consistent success comparable to what we experienced circa 1984-1990.

So, am I completely insane or are ya'll as optimistic about THIS team, THIS HC/GM combo and THIS SEASON as I am?!!!!!

I'm with you, Ghost! We're all crazy - Bear Crazy!

I get like that every year. Always finding a reason why we're going to win. Hey, Wanny is a good coach. Hey, Jauron's better than Wanny! Woohoo! Lovie Smith! A real defensive genius! Or Rashaan Salaam looks really good, or Cedric Benson seems like the real deal. Look - We got Moose!

But then sooner or later, I get slapped back to reality. With the Bears, it's usually sooner. Until recently. Since Mikey got canned, things are looking better. I have faith in Phil and Marc. Something I haven't had since 1986.

I've said it before, but this year truly does look to be a good one. You get that, Mel???

It's not a bread truck I am worried about ... a Cheese Truck! The only way we won't win the NFC North this year!!

I feel the optimism, which is why I would've dropped a LOT of money when the Bears were given 8 wins on the over. I believe they quickly went from 45/1 odds to 25/1 odds for the SB after all of the FA/draft stuff was over, but don't quote me on that.

Packers HAVE to be assumed as champs until otherwise proven, like it or not, though. The good thing is the Lions still have a horrible D and the Vikings, unless Bridgewater plays unlike a rookie QB, will probably still be fighting for 8-8, but keep in mind that they're still a very good team.

IDK, I think 9-10 wins is realistic, but I wouldn't say anymore than that.
