I'd take pedestrian in the reg season and great in the playoffs to pedestrian all the time.

I agree Cutler CAN be good enough to win a SB with....just a matter if he'll advance and develop enough to be that guy

I agree with that Ric. The playoffs are what matters. We don't really know what Cutler is like in the playoffs, at least not with great statistics to back it up. 2.5 games isn't much to go off of.

Cutler does need to step it up, I will not argue that.

No matter why happens with Cutler this year (success or failure), we should and will draft a QB within the first 3 rounds of the 2014 draft.

yep, and the team would easily get a top 5-8 qb prospect in the first 3-4 rounds, got to be one that can handle the wco if/when Cutler goes down.

You know what I love about the new board? The "ignore button". Getting ready to use it now...

EDIT: .5/10 Troll attempt. Made me respond, but the only way this could be any more obvious is if he said "The McCaskeys just don't spend enough money on good players".

Is Cutler the best QB in the world? No Is he the worse? NOT by a long shot.

I'd rather take a decent QB and have a GREAT teams instead of a GREAT QB and a shitty team.

Why does the topic of Cutler always seem to bring out the worst trollish behavior of some?

    People... keep it civil.

OP you and your pops are morons. Let me begin to explain, first off it takes more then 1 preseason game let alone a few REAL nfl games for a line to gel. Now to cutler, I love how you judge cutler by a pass that was tipped off wr's hands. As a matter of fact how many passes bounced off wr's hands? A shit ton!!!! Too many for me to count which I wasn't pleased about. For two people who don't watch a lot of football only shows how ignorant you are to the game and fan base. Stop looking at the bleatherreport and start reading quality findings, and don't ask me to just give it to you, search a little out.

I agree Ric. I kinda like Tajih Boyd. He's a dual threat (can you say read option) & an accurate passer. Clemson throws the ball down the field a lot so 67.2% is very impressive.

    3. Tajh Boyd, Clemson

    6-1, 225

    2012 season: 287-427, 67.2%, 3,896 yds., 36 TDs, 13 INTs; 514 rush. yds., 10 rush. TDs

You want to find the top true dual-threat QB in the 2014 draft? It’s Boyd, who is as confident and capable a runner as he is a passer. Again, that doesn’t mean he’s a run-first quarterback. He’ll run the quarterback draw and the read option, and turn broken plays into big ones. But Boyd is, first and foremost, an NFL-caliber passer. You don’t flirt with the 4,000-yard, 40-TD thresholds if you’re looking to tuck the ball and take off. Boyd has the arm strength and accuracy to make every throw in the book and is especially impressive on the deep ball (having had Sammy Watkins and DeAndre Hopkins as targets has to help). Like Murray, his height may scare off some (it may be more of a disadvantage for a pocket passer like Murray). But some NFL team looking to install elements of the Pistol offense will take a chance on Boyd and the versatility he brings to the table.

cutler is an ok qb, but lets be honest he needs to be better because our offense is not that strong, yet. so, we need him to step up this season if we're gonna see playofs. still, he hasnt accomplished a thing here, really. i think he can do it, its a bad oline/mental block with him. he does have it, hope he can show it this year

riiiiight, b/c we know exactly what teams are going to do before the season and how they will draft and exactly how college qb's are going to be drafted...and you are assuming the Bears would actually draft a qb in the 1st......right back to that crapwhol B/R? Haven't learned your lesson yet? NO ONE reads that garbage for actual information. It's at best a site to goto on slow days for the lulz.

ya but I dont go quoting me as a news sourse as to what will happen....see the difference? If a site is merely no better then a bunch of random internet posters then they are really of no use and a laughable joke for trying to be a "news source".

I would be surprised if we didn't draft a QB next year. We wanted to this year. It is not so much a reflection on Cutler as it is a sound strategy for teams to move forward.

I wouldn't lower my reputation as a writer or analyst by joining them(and btw I have none).
