He is in a contract year so keep him for backup then simply don't resign him.

I think this is exactly how it will end up playing out. I can see him sticking as the swing this season but I doubt he will be offered an new contact afterwards.

Ah the recent legacy of the ChiBears O-linemen. The past couple years we have been treated to the spectacular play of idiots like turnstile ohmyhell, false start fred miller, jscott, roberto getspushedback garza, Webb, and others less memorable. But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Our new coaching staff can see the value in a lineman who can hold a block for longer than a third of a second, w/o pixie dust. Webb may or may not stay for the remainder of the year, hopefully it will not matter, b/c w/ him staying on the bench, nobody gets hurt. Next draft will bring a fresh set of bodies into camp, any number of whom will be better than mcmunchbutt webb, and we will finally put the whole experiment in the rearview mirror. We will all look back on this and laugh someday. Well... prolly everyone but JayC. He won't think this is funny for a while.

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I'm off the hook for him being better than at least 3 other members of the line.
