Who gets the game ball for the Week 2 Win?
I'd also give one to Hester & probably Marshall. Cutler was money on that last drive but with 3 TOs I can't do it Benj.
We've gone from K.Davis to a "real" TE who can win games for us. The Bennett pickup by Phil Emery is now looking HUGE. He was the difference maker today. Put a "W" in the win/loss column, resulting in a 2-0 start for the Trestman era. Gotta love THAT.
Without him, we lose the game.
M Bennett gets da game ball Hester is real close tho it could be he may be back.
Bennett is what all baby TEs want to grow up to be.
Hester. Yeah, Bennet was solid and got the game winning TD, but Hester broke a franchise record, and his returns put the Bears in great positions to score. Its good to see the old Hester back.
Hester gave this team field position all day, how can he not even be listed?
Because I made a simple Mistake
A lot of factors can be said about this game. We lose without a real TE, We lose with the same old OL, We lose with Lovie and his cronies still running this team but we won this game with a real solid TE, a much and improved OL that has given Jay time. Our HC won a challenge unlike the old coach who probably would not have challenged the spot of the ball. The end of the day this is a great win no matter how you see it. The play calling is better and the offense is way much better than previous years. I see a lot of improvement with this team and I hope we can stay healthy and make the playoffs.
I feel exactly the same way. There will be some rough sailing as the team gets in sync with all the new coaches, players & schemes. But the ceiling is high here. And the floor is an unbeaten 2-0 so far. Not too shabby.
Not to mention we got that all important tie breaker against the queens. :tornado:
We are now all alone in 1st place in the NFC-N. Nice beginning to the Trestman era. Lots of improvement needed, but clearly it is a nice beginning. And I am confident Trestman will continue to improve the team every week, all season long.
Martellus redeemed himself today. No holding penalties and several big catches (including the TD's).
I give the ball to the big guys up front because they gave Cutler ample time to trow that rainbow to Marshall...lord, was that beautiful. :pamela:
It's a hard question because there were so many good players on the offensive side of the ball today.
Cutler made some really nice drives but made too many mistake for me to give him game ball.
Hester was back to old Hester, gave us nice field postion which lead to some good drives.
M. Bennett aka Da Black Unicorn this guy just seem to get better and better..
But I'm going with Forte. Forte was such a good weapon for us, both in the running game and the passing game. It's really nice to see him get much more involded in the passing game and if he can play like this every week and Trestman keeps using him the way he should be used, he sure as hell have earned his paycheck.
90 yards on 19 attempts(rushing) and 11 receptions for 71 yards. Despite the fumble I still think he earned the gameball.
hard to argue w/161 total yards on O. And the 11 rec's were on 11 targets. 100% is a huge improvement from last week.
off subject, but I'm kinda suprised at how bad Jeffery was, 1 rec on 5 targets, he had a sweet reverse, and I don't blame him for the 2nd, Emery better get used to not trying that 2x's in 2-3 games, let alone 2x's in 1 game.
While the Defense did give up a lot , they seemed to come through when it was needed. They kept the vikqeens out of the end zone in the second half and only gave up 100 to AP (he has taken us to the woodshed a few times, but not so much this week), plus a pick six.
But I choose M. Bennett (mainly because of the TDs) but Hester was a close second.
A tie between Stephen Paea's pregame dance ( got so pumped, broke the coffee table) & Martellus Bennett's TD non-dance dance...
How can you not give it to the Black Unicorn? He had a lot and I mean lot of good catches in this game beside the winning catch. This guy is going to be one scary unicorn if unicorns can be scary.
