How many does he have, catches/yards/TD's w/out Hester putting the team in great field position...including the Vikes to scared to kick to him during the winning drive. This O won b/c Hester put them in position to win.

Both are well deserving, but near 250 return yards and a team record breaking day I think he takes.

It is hard not to give it to Bennett; the guy had game all day long. However, I have to give it to a guy who I was personally ready to trade for a 5th rounder if we could get it, and that is Devin Hester. It wasn't just what he did physically, but emotionally. He kept his team UP by producing.

While I'm on this subject, did Devin Hester show a "HIGH GEAR" that we haven't seen in about three years, or was that just me? He is now doing what he is supposed to do, return punts and kicks and nothing else. That alone will win some games this year, and I think we just saw the first one yesterday.

Yeah, its still a very close call, anyway you slice it. I think Bennett is getting the love because he had a game winning TD, and people LOVE those.

But, i gave my vote to Hester, because he was there making an impact ALL GAME long, his work on returns gave us great FP throughout the game, and helped stifle some of those huge plays the Vikes had when we were able to strike right back. Bennett is a hero, no doubt, and a fantastic pickup by Emery. However, Hester put in the work all game long, and broke a personal and franchise record in the process.

Of course, this vote is only arbitrary, and its great to have such a disagreement about which Bear had a better game this week...i hope next week its a 3-way tie.

Let's not overreact here. We'll see if his numbers are that great in the other 14 games. Yesterday's performance doesn't justify two horrible seasons. ;-)

For the money he's been making the last couple of years he should play like that every week.

He made 6mil in 2010, payback for a HoF type return career. The last 3 years he's making sub 3 mil.

Eddie Royal by comparission the last two years is making 3 mil two years ago, 4 mil last year and 6mil this.; go look at his #'s in SD and tell me how horrible Hester has been.

look at Jacoby Jones, who has really done nothing as a WR or as a return man compared to Hester, he made 1.6mil last year and will make 3mil this year

but the best example is Santana Moss, who was given a contract for past performance and has done squat to deserve it, but he has made 4mil + a year the last 3 years.

    Hester's 2.6-2.9 mil isn't bad for a 3rd-5th wr option.

Don't get me wrong, Ric. I think Royal and Jones are both well overpaid.

Lil B, but the point is for the best ST'r there is, and his pitance of help on the O, he wasn't overpaid compared to other guys that are, by name or not, the 4th or worse option.

2-3 mil is pretty standard really, most think b/c he was named #1 that he was getting that kind of cake, but he wasn't anywhere near that and is paid more like a 4th or lower...and the reality is that pay was more for his ST play then anything
