Briggs and Bennett screwed the Bears today on two big 4th downs

Jay had a terrible game. I mean, he threw to Earl Bennett, but the pass clearly was so poor that Earl had no option but to drop it. Jay played so poorly that it demoralized the defense, which lead to the Saints moving the ball at will. Clearly, Bad Jay showed up today. I bet he was pouting, too! Shame on Fox for not fixing a CutlerCamTM on him. We need a new QB who can inspire his team to play better.

I'm gonna say it again. We lost because our defense stinks.

You really can't blame Cutler this time. If you do, then you're retarded. Jay did his homework. 358yds, 2tds, 0 int. Awesome game by AJ, horrible game by EBennett. Thanks for the drops, dumbass.
    Oline was okay I guess.

Dline didn't put enough pressure on Brees, LBs still can't tackle and our secondary blows. Tucker needs to try something else because his plays are NOT working.

    Goddammit. -_-

Trestman. The Saints were held to 2 FG's early on, and with a short field after a turnover, but this offense wasn't going to do anything, due to shoddy playcalling. It was obvious from early on that Jay was getting smoked by the defense, and not switching the playcalling up allowed the Saints to get an insurmountable lead.

That's not to say our defense isn't a sore spot, but they need all the help they can get, and you wonder if this offense is even capable of being reliable with consistent time consuming drives.

There's plenty of blame to spread around but our newly acquired left tackle looked pretty bad on a few plays.

coaches get this loss, the D held their own early, but the O took to long to get going and by then the game was already over. You cannot expect your D to hold the Saints to under 20 point, and the O didn't do what was necessary to keep the game close until the end.

If there was an 'offense' category, I would go with that. The two most disappointing plays were Earls drop and Briggs offside/encroachment penalty. Jay played respectively. The defense did better than I expected against a very good Saints offense. This could have been a -40 point game.

TBear1, yep Cutler and Forte early on killed this team, the OL, and the rest of the O was unprepared for the early pressure the NO's D was going to give them so the entire O could have been a good option.

youre right, trestman obviously needs a lot of (too much) time to adjust. thats why we had so much comebacks so far, we were just short on this one. i think they are still learning, we'll def. get better.
for me D way very good considering...

I give it to Trestman. He is a pass-happy play caller. Bennett gets honorable mention for the drop,

Jeffrey showed what happens if you double Marshall. Great game for Briggs, too.

Peppers was shutout again -- a total non-factor. Brees 300-yrd. streak ended. Conte sucks. No turnovers for Bears defense.

Giants now 0-5. Coming to Chicago at the right time!

Trestman doesn't strike me as pass happy. He seems to try to reach for the un-expected. He also seems to not re-run a big play even though it worked well before. Obviously, you can't keep running the same play but if you found a weakness exploit it.

I think in the long run Trestman is going to be successful. Does anybody here remember Mike Ditka's first couple of years? Trestman is learning to be a head coach in the NFL which is no easy task. Hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and eventually lead us to a Super Bowl win. I like Emery too even though I think he whiffed on the McClellan pick. But Emery has got a lot of spaces to fill. Let's face it some of these guys on defense are getting old. I'm trying to remain positive but I'm just pissed that we lost. Another defensive tackle hurt? Not good.

At least these mistakes seem to be "fixable", since most of us agree this is on the coaching staff.

First-and-goal from 4-yd. I expected him to pass.

Forte was running well, but he is passing on 3rd down and 4th down for 2 yards. I wasn't surprised. He throws on short yardage more often than not. It is a vote of no-confidence that Long/Mills can open a hole for Forte/Bush.

    HEY TRESTY,

We actually DO have a running game ... all you have to do is let them loose.

    FORTE-BUSH-FORD.

Take the heat off of JCut and the OL AND ... AND ... AND ... THE DEFENSE.
