I agree, Grizz. Seems like Britton esp has been taking a fair amount of 1st reps at both T spots and Webb hasn't been out hurt. I'm sure JW makes the team but his starting RT job may not be a sure thing as of now. Not good for a young guy in his FA year looking for a new contract. Maybe that reality-check is why he's going dark on Twitter lol.

IDK. I personally have been rooting for him since he started doing better last year, not as a "Hahaha, proved you guys wrong" kinda way, but I'm a fan of the underdog (Seriously, my favorite basketball team is the Raptors, not the Bulls) with sports, and just wanted to see HIM prove the league wrong. Hopefully the total sum of his offenses don't matter much, and he still plays well.

I just want a copetent OL this year, I don't care who the starters are as long as that happens....kinda like how Cosby talked about just wanting a healthy normal child, I just don't want some F'd up OL anymore.

I am rooting for him to get cut and later picked up by the packers or Vikings.

Enough about Webb head. I'm curious as to how Mills is and if Britton can steal a spot.

If Mills flat out earns the RT spot, and does better than Webb did @ RT last year, I will never question Emery again, lol. Not saying he's a bad pick, just saying, if he got 2 rookies starting on this line and they're good, he did in one offseason what Angelo never did (pick a really good lineman).

    IMHO as of now
    Bushrod
    Long
    Garza
    Slauson
    Webb
    Brown
Mills (would get poached off the PS)
    Britton
    Boggs (if keeping 9)

Release Scott and EWill, Lonergan possibly to the PS

I'd temper the enthusiasm for Mills realistically. Not saying he wasn't a promising pick but most likely he's a reserve and generally inactive this year barring injury need.

Not trying be funny, but I'd bet the Pack would pick Webb up in a heartbeat if we released him (I doubt we will, demote maybe but not cut). Right now, Green Bay has two not good options left for LT--a failed Marshall Newhouse or a 4th round rookie to protect Rodgers blind side. And in a pass heavy offense no less. Laugh if you will, but Webb would be a gift to them.

I absolutely don't believe he's got a realistic shot at starting. Just an improbable "what if" scenario.

FWIW, Dickerson reported that Webb didn't look good again today.
Praise for Frey, Shea (playing in a 2-pt stance), Paea, Blanchard, and McCown (to piss off Ric lol)

he had praise for both backups...why would I be upset about that? all the more reason to run w/2, and the older more expensive one is the one that should get gone :D

Specifically, JD also said that Webb has had a poor camp all along and may very well lose his starting RT job to Britton.
Fine by me, dudes had plenty of chances.

Heard that too MP, should have went dark before OTA's and mini camps. I wonder if he's been told that he might well lose his job when he thought it was his to lose.

I do think we will see Mills starting at RT in a few more years assuming he actually pans out. In a few years I could see Bushrod-Brown-Young Center-Long-Mills, with Scott or Britton being the Swing T.

I think that Green Bay would take him if he got cut. My Dad who is a Green Bay fan is freaking out about this. I'm like "Hey you guys should have hired Mike Tice as your O-Line Coach for the Pixie Dust."

I'd love to see their rookie project LT (Baktari sp?) going up against Peppers. That would be fun. Remember that game in Lambeau last year when Cutler nearly got killed cuz Webb got dusted for 3 1/2 sacks against Matthews?

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Julius....
