Well I guess we should just pass on him then. It's no big deal. I never wanted the Bears to draft him in the first place.
Umm too Fn bad. He does not have the stroke or talent to demand a trade when drafted.
You play for the team you are drafted by or you don't play at all
It's a joke Benji.
Joke or not, if this happened it's how I feel for all athletes
Well it won't. Actually it can't or at least not very easily but I suppose if a player told a team not to draft him and I was that teams GM I'd at least pay some attention to it. But that's the kind or thing first overall guys can pull. It usually doesn't trickle down to mid teen picks.
It happens occasionally. Didn't Eli manning pull that crap?
Yep. Eli was drafted by the Chargers and asked to be traded the same day. SD sent Rivers for Eli.
I think it happens more then people want to think, all these teams sit down and interview the players before hand, and they call them and say hey we're looking at drafting you; I'm sure between the 2 talks, even if briefly, and probably some back door talks w/the players agent the teams know if a player is okay w/going to a team or not.
I mean SD sent Eli for Rivers. Sorry
Yep but he was a top pick and a QB. Elway did it too years before that but guys who aren't top one or two picks and who aren't QBs normally can't get away with that. And besides it was nothing more than an April Fools joke. I read a lot of those yesterday and watched a few crazy videos too.
OK, now I finally remember your avatar lb. It came up yesterday because we were waiting for you to post so we could all see it and I couldn't recall what it was. Wish I was the QB on her team. :4_15_1:
Would definitely give new meaning to "Getting your ball off quick"
Or I could say that I would really be up for that.
It was worse than that. Leading up to the draft he demanded that the Chargers trade the pick. Then they drafted him anyway and made him walk up to the podium and take the picture with the jersey knowing they already had a deal in place with the Giants provided Rivers was still available a few picks later. I loved it. You publicly embarrass us, we will make you sweat it out until the end.
Hmmm...maybe that's why Emery drafted Shea McClellin ahead of David DeCastro. The mystery is finally solved. lol.
Shea does have some talent. There is no doubt. I also don't think that our defensive coaches were really capable of putting people in positions to succeed last year. No innovation or creative thinking. I'm anxious to see what happens this year. I think Emery and Trestman both have had substantive conversations about how to put Shea in a position to succeed. If he does not this year, I think he will be gone.
If we draft Donald and he refuses to play for us we can trade him for Ryan Leaf.
We win either way.
I think Daddy had his hand in that deal all the way up to his armpit. I worked out for them after all. Peyton is by far the better QB but Eli is the one with two SB rings.
Only is we toss in a 3rd round pick and a dozen NFL approved footballs.
