What is the real reason we are not running the ball?

I think we need to get Bush and Forte in more at the same time to be honest.

From what I can tell, as soon as we get behind, Trestman flips a switch and feels he has to go to a passing game.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but that seems to be a big part of it.

According to Hub he thinks JC is calling out of a lot of run plays, which is very possible, think about the Long downfield penalty, the entire team thought it was a run. The team is also getting scared b/c of the early leads of the other teams and is looking more to pass.

That's what I think, but if so the thinking is too simplistic. In the end of the third or in the fourth quarter, I get it. You only have so much time to catch up. In the first or second quarter, when the run is working? Makes you wonder. Even I know that makes no sense.

I agree BiH, but that does seem to be the case, HubA also thinks that Cutler is calling out of a lot of run plays, so I think it's a combo of both.

Oh please. The Bears had 3 offensive possessions surrounding the 2 field goals by the Saints early in the game. They went pass happy. They weren't "In a hole", and even so, they were never in too much danger of it becoming a blowout until late in the 3rd quarter. If Cutler is calling us out of a lot of running plays, then I think it's time he's had his audible calling abilities tapered significantly. It makes me wonder if that has anything to do with him STILL wasting time outs early and often.

It's a holdover from Lovie. Lovie used to tell him to take his time because there was still a lot of football to play.

Yeah, the whole "burn a couple of TO's because there was miscommunication between Cutler and the sidelines" thing is getting REALLY old. I was really hoping Trestman would bring an end to that BS. I ABHOR WASTING TIMEOUTS WELL IN ADVANCE OF HALFTIME. IT really frosts my cookies!

And that's the last thing any of us would want! :)
