When Halas hired Ditka it was the best thing since Swiss cheeze. He took the team,.. a team assembled by Jim Finks AND Jerry Vannisi, and did what they did. AFTER Papa Bear died and Vanissi removed ,... Ditka was pretty much handcuffed by good ole Mikey McCaskey.

lol, thanks for the unintentional comedy, Chief. You can take it you antiquated, half-assed sarcasm and shove it you know where. The whole lame "....NOT" schtick might have been amusing, had it been typed back in 1995. Now why don't you try again, sweetheart.

I would say that primarily the Bears enjoyed such a tactical advantage with the 46 it was a perfect storm of talent and scheme. It may sound like sour grapes but I am glad it wasn't duplicated. A once in a lifetime event makes for a great indelible memory IMO.

Why certainly nyuht, nyuht, nyuht, nyhut. YOU'RE 34 years old and YOU DON'T KNOW squat about he 80's Bears

YOu may think you do, but you don't

but then again with your way of thinking you'll always fail to accept fact from fiction, and know,... there is a difference between thinking and knowing

the Many more have forgotten and taken it to their graves even ,... than you can still learn about the 80s Bears

    Copy that ,... CHIEF

Maybe too simplistic but I always felt that Ditka/Ryan blowup in '85 followed by Ryan's leaving was the most damaging. Tobin ran an excellent D but Ryan was better IMO & that D fed off his personality. We also we're a bit more reactive than proactive under Tobin. Same talent but Ryan's D instilled fear... in opponents and the players.

That intangible was needed to make up for the offensive woes that appeared later in the season.

One of the BIGGEST losses to the 80s Bears came in the year following the Super Bowl ,...the hit on McMahon ,..

I really love the kids l responses here that can only conjure speculation McMahon sucked, He was overrated,. he was this ,... he was that ?? OH REALLy ??? Co check his college numbers at from back then

MAC ,... ALWAYS seemed to know when and what to audible into which most of the time paid off ,.. Fancy that from a overrated QB

The play I bring up here I feel pretty much ended Mac's career he wasn't the same after that

And wasn't even 100 % in the off the bench Vikings game BOMB Put this in your pipe n smoke it ! ! ! 3 TDs in less than 9 minutes PASSES MIND YOU

at the time Mac was one of the best at what he did

it wasn't him being injury prone so much ,... it was him being assaulted by Martin that changed it all, and pretty much ended it for him

AGAIN leave the memories alone they are what they THAT TEAM will always be what's been and kudo's for those who have chosen Mikey Mc As it was clearly seen in recent years his pandering about the team 's functions doesn't not have a positive impact on the team

in the battle of the Mikes
Michael McCaskey was and always will be the BIGGER DICK than Mike Ditka ever will be. He,..MM, robbed the fans blind

    BRING IT ON Georgy ! ! !
