Just curious who you think is the better defensive coach. Obviously, Lovie isn't coming back as DC, but I'm wondering if you think he's a better "D" coach.

I voted Lovie but really it isn't fair. Mel isn't running "his" defense and he's doing it with most of his best players hurt.

Last year, he only had 5 defensive players that played all 16 games, and this year, he's lost 2 DT's, 1 LB and our best cornerback to IR. Jury is still out. Also, IIRC, part of the reason for Chico leaving after the 2006 season, was that he and Lovie had an argument over how to change up the defensive schemes after halftime, and Lovie won out.

You can't make silk out of a sow's ear, but a good DC would at least be able to make a dog's rawhide chewie out of it. Tucker took a sow's ear and turned it into a steaming pile of dino doo-doo.

Henry Melton, Stephen Paea, Turk McBride, Nate Collins, Sedrick Ellis, Lance Briggs, D.J. Williams, Charles Tillman and Kelvin Hayden have missed plenty of play time. Then you have to consider the fact that the only two players that could adjust the defense before the snap, Brian Urlacher and Nick Roach have also left. That's not a fair assessment to make.

Definitely Tucker. We should keep him. Once he gets his own new scheme in here, we will make the playoffs.
