It has been an East Coast Convention since its inception. Lets spread it around to all 32citys. Whats wrong with that?

Gives fans from surrounding citys a chance to meet each other. Have a beer ... buy a beer.

Have a Draft in Phoenix ... San Diego fans will show up , probably not too many from N.E.

But thats the idea of spreading the Draft around. Everybody gets a chance to participate.

I gaurantee you if there was a Draft held in Green Bay ... the population would double from BEARS FANS.

The Draft would HAVE to be held at Lambough ... and how cool would that be ?

Just by the sheer numbers of out of towners.

Jackie, it's Lambeau not Lambough. Lambough would be a branch on a Lam tree. If you keep misspelling the shrine of Loki's team and I don't want to be around you when the famous Ban Hammer falls. (too much blood and brain matter) :bah:

Did you not see the pictures I posted of all the fans from other cities? Do I need to post more? I have no problem with the draft being spread around, but this idea that fans from far and wide don't travel to NYC is beyond ridiculous.

Why the NFL draft should be held in chicago:
    1) It's F'n Chicago
    2) It's the home of the Flagship team DaBears
    3) Deep Dish Pizza
    4) DaSuperFans of Chicago and their awesome ability to give the new draftees new names.
    5) The easy ability to get in and out of downtown is among the finest in the country.
    6) Chicago weather in May makes it easy to pack, screw SD they got nothing on Chicago's consistant weather.

There you have it and you cant argue against it. Why spead it around ?

The Thursday night Draft FIRST ROUND in 2010 outdrew more TV audience then the NBA and NHL ,combined on other networks. Lets spread the wealth and getting to meet fans from other teams around.

The Draft is an NFL goldmine that should be shared amongst ALL NFL fans.

The more you build it up that it is distributed equally to all fans in all citys ...

the more those citys make in revenue.

That being the case Butkus you being a New Yorker , I can see why you want to keep it in New York.

But how about if the rest of us get to particpate too in our towns ?

Whatever revenue the NFL generates from the draft already is spread around Jackie. And no...it is not the financial goldmine to the city that you seem to think it is. Even the Superbowl is not a financial goldmine...if anything it's a drain.

And for the 1 millionth time...despite it being 10 minutes from me...I NEVER WENT!!! I don't care where it is...I just can't understand why you think it's this financial windfall and that only fans from east coast teams go to it.

I'm suprised you never went, I would have checked it out at least once.

Butkus you give me my own answer ... you dont care about it in New York.

Alot of us would love to have the chance around the nation.

And it should be held in every NFL town.

Yeah...never had the desire...even when I knew some guys who were getting drafted(one of whom ended up being drafted by the Bears). I would rather be able to sit in front of my tv, beer in one hand, draft book in the other. Thats just me though.

I disagree that it should be held in every town. The NFL is trying to make it a prime time event, so it needs to be held in prime time cities. NYC, Chicago, LA, Miami...and I'd say maybe Dallas or Houston. Plus each city has to have a place that could handle having that kind of event. Radio City Music Hall held 5 thousand people, plus fit all the teams personnel, plus two tv networks and the players and entourage. Not every city has a venue let alone multiple venues that can do that.

But think about this Butkus , if it were held in the Stadium where the team plays.

I'll fill up Jacksonville if it came to that ... from surrounding towns getting in on the action. This is bigger then Madison Square Garden.

The NFL just doesnt know it yet ... theres a cash cow out there for them and the city they hold the Draft in.

Now lets be real here ... do you think Lambeau Field wouldnt fill up with 80000 fans ? Thats alotta revenue. Think about it.

First of all you can't hold the draft outdoors cause there's this little thing called weather. If the NFL didn't feel the need for a bigger venue when they held the draft in one of the most populated cities in the world(with people who are originally from every state in th country), why would they need it anywhere else? Secondly, the NFL draft, just like the a SuperBowl is NOT a cash cow for the host city. I don't know how many times I have to tell you this.

Even if it rained it would be a party. Sometimes it even snows in Denver around Draft time.

Tell me thats not going to make national news. 30000+ fans in Denver for a 3 day event ... try finding a hotel room.

It could happen ... just give it a chance.

Can you imagine what the tailgate partys would be like ?

A Draft held in Clevland ... err ... yeah well a Draft held in Clevland would pull an attendence of other cities to fatten the pot of Clevland business.

Bring the wife and kids along and the wife may need to buy tampons,

and you gotta feed the kids at McDonalds before the tailgate party

with other fans of other teams of whom nobody has ever met before.

    Tell me its not good.

Y'know like Colombus , you wont know until you get there.

If this doesn't happen in NYC, with visitors from around the WORLD, and a population of 8.37 MILLION PEOPLE(compared the chicago's 2.7 million people and LA's 3.5 million people)why would it happen anywhere else? I don't know what you're smoking...but I want some!

    Butkus,

The reason the NFL Draft should be held in CHICAGO along with 30 other cities

    in the future is democracy.

Lets give it a chance to play out along the NFL spectrum. All should be included.

And this is the best part of all ... who knows what the hell is going to happen where ?

Maybe Baltimore is the best party town for the NFL Draft.

But we wont know that until we get there. At least give 31 other towns a chance.

If one fails ... fine. You wont go there again until things improve.

For the rest ... give them that chance ... thats not asking much.

If the whole thing fucks up ... it wil revert to NYC.

But give us that chance to see. Thats all we ask.

What any NFL town can do for the Draft to put on a show.

OK I'm down with the share the wealth idea. I'm writing a letter to Goodell asking that the great city of Englewood, CO be considered. There's a pretty cool sports bar near here that would love to play host I'm sure.

Might get a little crowded but enough of this elitist crap. Bring the draft to the huddled masses of NFL fans all over. The hell with Green Bay. Too popular. Hold it in Madison. It 's much cooler place.

Let the little guy in on it! Spread it out all over this great land of ours!

:cheer2: Doin' my best to keep up with you jackie! :36 7 12[1]:

    Thanks Soul,

Had a bit too much crumbs instead of flake in the roll, not complaining.

A Draft in New Orleans ? Every passenger flight on the way out would be canceled for a day or two.

NFL fans would still be partying in the Superdome parking lot 2 weeks after you told them the Draft was over.
