cannnot watch it now, but I struggle to see how a team w/2 #1 WR's, an elite pass catching RB, and a top pass catching TE needs a 4th wr when the 3rd WR is going to struggle to see touches(see Earl last year)

I'm with you guys, we need a TE behind Bennett, not a WR. TE is the only offensive pick I'd make unless somebody really good drops to us.

TE is the only O pick, EARLY, I would take. I'd still be okay w/a mid round QB or a mid to late round RB.

FYI, Phil isn't likely to grab a QB in the mid to late rounds per this tweet. Unless it's a smokescreen...

Emery seems to be throwing water on idea of taking QB in late rounds. Says hasn't been a "developmental" QB after 3rd round since 06.

Too bad, I would have loved to see Trestman develop a guy like Tom Savage.

I'd say WR is as much a need as TE. Which is to say, both need depth. At either position, if a starter goes down, we have a JAG coming in to take their place. I wouldn't take either early barring extenuating circumstances. Most analysts that list WR as a need for us do so saying we need a burner to take the top off of defenses.

I also wouldn't call safety a far greater need than cornerback. Both are a need. Safety is simply the more immediate need. If Tillman gets hurt again this year, we have no one capable to fill in for him. And unless he plays well and stays healthy this year, he's likely gone after this season. I would much rather have his replacement already on the team with a year under his belt, than putting a rookie on the field to replace him. And I'd rather have a JAG playing safety than cornerback.
