You can all shut up about the Hard Knocks stuff, it will be the Falcons.

Old news brother. LOL Strock sent me a text about it an hour and a half ago but it's also good to see the news get it's own thread. Some may disagree but I really believe it was a much bigger issue than many would admit.

Anyway I'm pleased they're being passed by this year and now what they need to do is get into the playoffs and eliminate themselves from consideration for a bit just in case the NFL has decided to do this alphabetically. "C" isn't far behind "A". LOL

Not if we make the playoffs.

Anyway, good news. I don't have to buy HBO now.

Maybe this show will turn into such a ho hum thing or the NFL will be less enthused about it and they'll end up dropping it. I admit is was interesting to watch once or twice but after that it just seemed like a rehash of the same thing just with a different set of guys.

Some see it as a documentary but I see it more as a reality show. HBO is in the entertainment business. National Geographic and the Discovery channel are in the documentary business.

I haven't had TV in awhile but Nat Geo and Discov channel were disappointing the hell out of me. Everything seems to be reality TV, even those stations have program after program of stuff not above the reality TV label.

Hmm, maybe they've caved to it as well. There's a lot of archival stuff on Netflix that I watch and it may be from years ago. Most of it is pretty good or at least informative for a history buff like me. I don't even bother with cable any longer. I'd rather just stream the stuff I want to watch even if I am playing catch up from a few years ago. Hell, I can even stream the Bears games and from two feet away a computer monitor is just as effective as a big screen TV watched from across the room or across a bar somewhere.

Plus I can curse to my hearts content this way and last year I may have set a record for that. I even invented some new ones. :soapbox::rofl2:

If we go to the playoffs, that just means they can't force us.

So, just to spark up some thoughts (and to drive Soulman crazy) I'm going to start up a new thread for 2015.. lol

I wonder if Mike Tice will finally unveil the vaunted "Hester Package" by mistake during Hard Knocks.

Guessing Tice still believes he is HC material and loving the face time, but will show the world how dumb he really is.

I really don't mind being razzed about it Rick. I really don't. You know me. I usually have some pretty strong opinions about most things related to the Bears and they don't shift very much once they're formed. So I expect some razzing about them at times. I'm experienced enough around here to give as good as I get. That's always been part of the fun. LOL

But here. If one of the top Bears players is saying exactly what I did about that whole deal being too big of a distraction for the team and players to actually want to deal with this year does it lend anymore credibility to my opinion? Isn't Peanut saying exactly what I said?

I enjoy pleading my case about stuff. The ability for all of us to do that is what has made this the very best Bears Fan Site and Forums on the planet. And I never expect anyone to agree 100% with my point of view and many not at all. But just because someone disagrees I'm not likely to change an opinion I've thought out pretty well in advance of when I offered it.

Now it's my fond hope and expectation that the 2014 Bears will become a playoff team and perennial playoff team for years to come. Then we'll never have to appear on that jerkwater show. :bah:

Falcons to be featured on Hard Knocks this year - News 3 at 6
    By Rich Campbell, Tribune reporter
    3:14 p.m. CDT, June 13, 2014

Chicago Bears officials have long made clear their preference not to be showcased on HBO's training camp documentary "Hard Knocks." Veteran cornerback Charles Tillman shares that sentiment, and he was happy to learn Thursday that the Atlanta Falcons will be featured this summer.

"I’m pretty relieved that we don’t have to go 'Hard Knocks,' Tillman said at his foundation's Pro BOWLer tournament fundraiser in Rosemont. "I think it’s probably a big distraction for a lot of guys. We’re fun to watch, but as far as, you know—I hate interviews, so having to do all the interviews and having to talk to the media the whole time, like, I think that would just be a big distraction."

If Tillman said it's not for him, then I take his side. :D

He arguably the best Bears player in history. Before everyone jumps on me for it, measure his off field work, on field work, his attitude etc..

The guy has been a work horse for the Bears. He's played special teams, just flat out busted his ass. Find one negative comment from him.

He is my favorite Bear of all time because he is a role model, no question!

Amen, amen, amen! Whether or not he makes the NFL HOF is questionable but I'm with you. He's definitely a Bears HOF'er both on and off the field.
