If we draft a TE in round 2 with all of our actual needs on defense, I'm going to be very upset.
I don't think we will see a TE at all, and not before the 5th if we do. AC Lennoard is the only one I could see us snagging late. He looks the part of an NFL TE and maybe can stay under the radar coming from a tiny school.
The only one i see working in this mock is Donald. I don't see any way of us taking a TE that high. Maybe a QB in the 3-4 rd but I think the 1st 3 picks will be all defense
Where's the damn mock Version 765.98?
FineYou got it: worst case scenerio thread:
The 3 qb's DON'T get taken before the Bears and Gilbert/Donald/Pryor/Dix are off the board. Bears try and trade back but don't get a good enough offer:
14: Blake Bortles QB, ya this guy is going to be ready to backup Cutler before mid season, and the Bears likely get multiple picks in 2-3 years when they look to trade him. Really think a guy like Trestman would splooge his pants to get a shot at arguably the best QB on the Board? Think Cutler gives a damn about this? He would and he doesn't.
51: SJB CB, Bears can get this guy on the field at CB next year, and on the field this year at S.
82: Dion Bailey S Bears get the tallest/best S left on the board again the team needed to get multiple DB's, and do so w/out a problem.
117: Anthony Johnson DT, They still get an explosive 3 Tech who can get pressure on the QB and can run stuff.
156: Xavier Gimble TE, Bears need a legit backup TE and get one here
183: Marion Grice RB, he'll enter into the fold right away and compete w/Ford for backup duties.
191: Beau Allen NT, this guy is a massive NT, and if they can develop him the team has a replacement for Paea if he cannot hold up.
This one is really, and I mean really, thinking outside the box, but I've seen worse. :lol 027:
But still, selecting a QB in the first would cause riots in Chicago.
lol no doubt, but if Emery and Trestman have any of those guys rated higher then whats left, I would fully expect them to do it and not give 2 shits. But it won't happen b/c at least 2 of those qb's are going top 13, and the qb's left won't be rated as high as the D players left so that's why I said "worst case scenerio"
went to a highly quesitonable mock draft site that allows for trade downs, I'd be okay w/this:
Round 1 Pick 17 (BALT): Calvin Pryor, FS, Louisville
Round 2 Pick 24 (S.F.): Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio State
Round 3 Pick 15 (BALT): DaQuan Jones, DT, Penn State
Round 3 Pick 18: Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU
Round 4 Pick 13 (NYG): Christian Jones, ILB, Florida State
Round 4 Pick 17: Craig Loston, SS, LSU
Round 5 Pick 12 (NYG): Xavier Grimble, TE, Southern California
Round 6 Pick 11 (NYG): Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh
Round 6 Pick 18 (BALT): Ricardo Allen, CB, Purdue
Lmao could you imagine if this happened, and then Cutler went down and Bortles won 5 or so games and put up good numbers. If you thought there was a circus with McCown last year you ain't seen nothin yet. I think for the public's safety talking about QBs would be banned on all Chicago media.
DRAFT DAY IS FINALLY HERE!!!
So where is todays Mock? Wo did we take?
