No, because he was benched, anyway.

Seems like the criteria should be whether or not he is better than the current Bears safeties rather than whether he is better than the current Texans safeties. We have a low bar. Looks are free... sure, bring him in and take a look. Cost of a plane ticket is worth it.

If he has a pulse, then he's an upgrade over what we have. In fact, if he hasn't a pulse, but hasn't been dead too long - he's still an upgrade over what we now have.

No. Too old, too risky and too expensive. Give Wright and Conte a couple of games and then decide at the end of the season.

If he's having a problem being out-coached in Houston, things aren't going to change here any time soon.

After watching him in Baltimore (prior to being let go), he is injured and I think he is done to be honest.

His last season in Baltimore he was unable to bring him arms up over his head and his play was not the Ed Reed of years gone by. He did provide some good leadership, but he was unable to wrap up when he tackled and I was not overly concerned when he left.

As bad as our Safeties have been, I would still say no thanks, he is done.

Wouldnt the Texans know in advance the guy was washed up ?

Are they that stupid ? Somthing happened with the Texans ... like the Giants ... like Atlanta.

Somthing also happened with Kansas City.

Somthing is going on ...on those teams. Those teams were suppossed to be front runners.

The one that wasnt ... is.

Id bring in Reed for a look see ... what else do we have ?

What's the harm in brining him in for a workout? Nothing. Might as well.

The Jets already signed him. They have a MUCH better defense than us, so they'll be able to mask his age-reduced play a lot better than the Bears could.

meh... I'm not sure we really lost anything. Not sure he could have contributed much, but I still think it would have been worth a look to see for ourselves.

I agree, completely, but if he starts playing well with the Jets, many will complain that we missed our chance to sign him, overlooking the fact that the Jets front 7 make their secondary's job significantly easier than the Bears.

Reed isn't the answer. But we do need to replace both of our safeties in the off-season. It really hurts to watch safeties as bad as ours. Painful.
