I believe this draft will start out slow but more surprises as the first round goes on.
I'll predict the Browns give up 2 ones for Harbaugh and Manziel drops to 12.

The more I read about Ohio State's LB Ryan Shazier, the more it looks like a "Emery surprise pick". Stay tuned.

    obvious choices: Donald/Dix/Pryor/Gilbert/Dennard

maybe at 14 Emery doesn't get as crazy then he does at 19+; or maybe b/c that has created havoc w/a boom or bust ratio of 50% he's learned. if not look for the Emery swerve

    Nix/Hagemen/Fuller/Ealy/Shazier(to play S)

    1. Browns trade back into the top 10 and end up with Manziel and Evans.

    2. As far is surprises for us.... Hageman, Nix, Fuller (to play S), Jernigan,

    3. 2 of our first 3 picks are offensive players.

    Bridgewater will go before #25.

Lions trade up to get Sammy Watkins/Mike Evans

Clowney falls to #3 someone trades up to nail him

I am more convinced than before that we are going secondary with our first pick as much as I would like to see us put the nail in the coffin of our DL and just finish that up with a penetrating DT. I want to say S, but Emery is the kind of guy that if he does not see what he feels is value at 14 for a S, he won't do it. The Safeties are not rated as high as other years, so he may not spend the 14 on a S no matter how much he needs one. So it may be a CB.

    We'll find out soon enough.

Ok...I know I don't post in here much anymore, but here's my thinking....

If they are really gonna fix the defense and get younger, and because DT and DB are pretty deep, I can see the Bears picking Shazier or Mosley in the first. Then, I see them taking Deonne Bucannon, the S from Washington State in the 2nd, and then at DT in the 3rd, like Justin Ells from La Tech or Caraun Reid from Princeton.

    post here more often moodog!

I could see that or instead of Bucannon(Emery claims the S class isn't great) I could see them going for a bigger CB to convert to S.

That would go along with my double on safety idea because a lot of people are projecting Shazier as a SS.

I know everyone is enamored with Donald in the first. So am I...I see a Tommie Harris type of impact. But, if we go DT in the first, DB in the second, how deep is the LB position in the draft? I mean, DJ Williams is on a 1 year deal and Shea only has one year left and we don't really know what the Bears have with him, or even Bostic or Greene....and Briggs is getting up there. So, I really could see someone like Mosley come in and anchor the MLB spot for years to come..I think LB is just as big of a need as any other spot on D.
